Netflix is ending 2025 strong with several popular TV shows and a growing list of movies. New additions include films like Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Babylon, Man vs Baby, and Jay Kelly. But the biggest surprise – and instant hit – is the addition of what many consider to be the best Spider-Man movie ever made.
Fans were excited to find that the popular animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is now streaming on Netflix. It quickly became a hit, reaching number six on the platform’s list of top movies today. With several Spider-Man films available on Netflix, Spider-Verse is considered one of the best, and viewers can now enjoy it as much as they like.
What Is The Future Of Sony’s Spider-Verse Franchise?

The 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a huge success, turning into a major franchise. While Miles Morales was already well-known from comic books, the movie made him incredibly popular. It was also a financial win for Sony Animation, earning over $394 million worldwide. The 2023 sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, performed even better, grossing over $690 million globally.
Fans can look forward to the conclusion of the current Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse trilogy, though it won’t arrive until June 18, 2027. While that film is still a few years away, other Spider-Verse projects are coming sooner. A new series, Spider-Noir, is planned for Prime Video and will star Nicholas Cage as a Spider-Man who works as a detective in a classic noir setting. It’s expected to be released in 2026, and another spinoff is also in development.
Another Spider-Man spinoff is in the works, this time starring Spider-Punk. Daniel Kaluuya will return to voice the character, just as he did in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Recent news indicates the script is almost finished, suggesting the movie could move quickly into production next year.
You can currently watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on Netflix, and the next movie, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, will be released in theaters on June 18, 2027.
