The Biggest Week In Geek TV Officially Starts Today (What to Watch, When and Where)

Sometimes, everything comes together at once for fans, and this week is one of those times! If you love TV and enjoy a variety of different shows and genres, you’re in for a treat – there’s a huge amount of exciting new content coming out. It’s a rare week, and we might not see anything quite like it again.

Starting this Monday, April 6th, there’s a lot of new content coming to streaming! Fans can enjoy two new episodes of the Star Wars animated series Maul: Shadow Lord, plus fresh episodes of Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again and Amazon’s Invincible. The final season of The Boys also kicks off this week. Here’s a guide to when and where you can watch everything, and what to expect from each show.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord

When/Where to Watch: Episodes 1 & 2 Streaming on Monday, April 6th, only on Disney+

This animated Star Wars spinoff focuses on the popular villain Maul (voiced by Sam Witwer) and his efforts to rebuild his criminal empire. Created by Dave Filoni (known for The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Clone Wars, and Rebels), the series is set shortly after the rise of the Galactic Empire. Maul leads a small group of raiders aiming to revive his “Shadow Collective,” a powerful underworld organization from the Clone Wars. Along the way, he encounters a young Twi’lek Jedi named Devon Izara (Gideon Adlon) and attempts to turn her into his apprentice.

Those who enjoy Dave Filoni’s Star Wars animated series have a lot to look forward to with the new show, which focuses on one of the franchise’s most compelling characters and fills in a fascinating piece of his backstory. Shadow Lord will reveal how Maul transformed into the criminal leader seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Currently, the show boasts a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics.

Daredevil: Born Again

When/Where to Watch: Season 2, Episode 4 Streaming only on Disney+, Tuesday (7 pm, PT).

Episode 4, titled “Gloves Off,” will show Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) responding to Daredevil’s escape from prison by publicly focusing attention on Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). This will put Matt under pressure from all sides – his allies might start to doubt him, and Kingpin’s task force will be actively trying to find and eliminate him.

Invincible

You can watch Season 4, Episode 6 of the show exclusively on Prime Video starting Wednesday, April 8th, at 12 am Pacific Time.

The next episode of Invincible Season 4, titled “You Look Horrible,” promises to be a must-see after the shocking ending of Episode 5. (Spoiler alert!) The episode left viewers on a cliffhanger as Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) had a violent rematch. Mark ultimately choked Conquest to death, but not before Conquest fatally impaled Mark and tore out his intestines. Whether Mark will survive these injuries is a major question, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next episode to find out.

The Boys

Alright, movie fans, here’s the deal on how to catch the latest! Prime Video is dropping the first two episodes of Season 5 on Wednesday, April 8th. Set your alarms, because they’ll be available right at midnight Pacific Time. So, it’s a streaming-only event – get ready to binge!

The final season of Amazon’s The Boys begins with a two-part premiere. This season, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his team are making one last, all-out effort to defeat Homelander (Antony Starr), the superhero group The Seven, and the powerful Vought corporation. With anyone potentially facing death in any episode, the stakes are incredibly high – even for a show as unpredictable as The Boys. This season will tie together the storylines from The Boys and its spin-off Gen V, paving the way for even more spin-off projects after the main series concludes.

More Geek TV to Watch (& A Movie)

Besides the four popular shows already mentioned, several other series geared towards fans of technology and science fiction are premiering this week.

Apple TV+’s “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” (streaming Fridays) has gained a dedicated fanbase thanks to the popular “Godzilla vs. Kong” movies. Now in the second half of its first season, the show features a new, destructive Titan, a significant character death, and the looming arrival of Godzilla.

The popular 2000s sitcom, Malcolm in the Middle, is back with a new series on Hulu. Frankie Muniz reprises his role as Malcolm, who hasn’t spoken to his eccentric family in years. He’s forced to reconnect when his parents, Hal and Lois, celebrate their 40th anniversary. Malcolm brings his teenage daughter with him, and she quickly discovers just how wild his family truly is.

On Friday, Netflix releases “Thrash,” a tense survival-horror film. It follows a pregnant woman (Phoebe Bynevor from “Bridgerton”) who gets stranded in her car during a hurricane. Things get even scarier when floodwaters bring sharks rushing in! The movie is directed by Tommy Wirkola, known for films like “Dead Snow,” “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters,” and the action-packed holiday movie, “Violent Night.”

After a four-year wait, Season 3 of the popular HBO series Euphoria is set to premiere this week. With stars like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, and Colman Domingo now even more well-known, it will be fascinating to see how the show holds up and how audiences react to the now-grown cast.
