Amazon Prime Video has unveiled the initial snapshots from the upcoming spinoff series of “The Boys”, titled “Vought Rising”. These new glimpses offer a fresh appearance for Jensen Ackles‘ character, Soldier Boy, and some entirely novel versions of Supers. The announcement of “Vought Rising” was made at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, with the series focusing on Soldier Boy and Stormfront (Aya Cash) as they delve into the early days of Vought in the 1950s. As “The Boys” nears its conclusion after the fifth and final season, and “Gen V” explores a younger group of Supers, “Vought Rising” promises to be an exciting addition to the franchise.
On August 14, 2025, Amazon Prime Video unveiled fresh glimpses of four characters from the upcoming series Vought Rising, via Instagram. Notably, Jensen Ackles’ character, Ben (also known as Soldier Boy), is seen in a new leather ensemble that diverges from his attire in season 3 of The Boys. The sneak peeks also revealed the appearances for three new characters: Mason Dye (from Stranger Things) as Bombsight, Elizabeth Posey (from Euphoria) as Private Angel, and Will Hochman (from Blue Bloods) as Torpedo. As for Aya Cash’s character, Stormfront or Liberty, her updated look remains undisclosed at this time.
New actors joining the cast for the series Vought Rising include Jorden Myrie from The Strays, Nicolò Pasetti from The Queen’s Gambit, Ricky Staffieri from The Bear, and Brian J. Smith from Sense8. This upcoming show, Vought Rising, delves into the complex history of Vought International with a gripping murder mystery that revolves around morally dubious characters Soldier Boy and Stormfront. Eric Kripke, who was responsible for creating all five seasons of The Boys, will be back as the showrunner for Vought Rising. After completing its upcoming season in 2026, The Boys is set to conclude.
The following actors are now part of the cast in the series Vought Rising: Jorden Myrie (The Strays), Nicolò Pasetti (The Queen’s Gambit), Ricky Staffieri (The Bear), and Brian J. Smith (Sense8). Vought Rising will focus on the debatable past of Vought International, weaving a suspenseful murder mystery around the questionable characters Soldier Boy and Stormfront. Eric Kripke, who has masterminded all five seasons of The Boys, will resume his role as showrunner for Vought Rising. Following its upcoming season in 2026, The Boys is expected to wrap up.
In my cinematic journey, I, Jensen Ackles, stepped into the action-packed world of ‘The Boys’ during their thrilling third season, embodying the iconic hero, Soldier Boy. It was there that a surprising connection was unveiled – Soldier Boy turned out to be the biological pops of Homelander, played by the talented Anthony Starr.
Flash-forward to the nail-biting finale of ‘The Boys’ season 4, and there I was, making a quick but memorable appearance as Soldier Boy. Now, the buzz is that I’ll be back for more in the fifth season, sharing the screen once again with my supernatural comrades Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins!
As I type this, production on ‘Vought Rising,’ a spin-off series, is set to begin in August 2025, while ‘The Boys’ season 5 already wrapped filming on July 1, 2025. So, buckle up, movie buffs, because it seems there’s a whole lot more action and drama coming our way!
Ackles’ series “Vought Rising” won’t feature Aya Cash as Stormfront anymore, since she took her own life to escape Homelander and her wounds in season 3 of “The Boys.” Stormfront was pivotal in a strong racial plotline in “The Boys” season 2, and these topics may be revisited in “Vought Rising,” delving into the early history of the Vought corporation. As of now, there’s no set release date for “Vought Rising,” but it might premiere sometime at the end of 2026 or beginning of 2027.
