Jack Whitehall has been announced as host of the BRIT Awards 2026.
The actor and comedian, known for his roles in films like Jungle Cruise, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and the new thriller Malice, will host the event for the sixth time.
He announced the news with a poem dedicated to Manchester – the city where the show will be held next year – on his Instagram page.
The backdrop of the sketch features a green screen showing famous Manchester sights, like the Coronation Street set and the Curry Mile. It also playfully references things well-known to people from Manchester, such as barm cakes and the city’s rainy weather.

Okay, so Instagram’s being tricky! Apparently, because I’m logged into Contentpass, it’s blocking me from seeing this particular post. If I want to check it out, I need to sign out of Contentpass first. It’s a bit annoying, but that seems to be the workaround.
In a statement, Whitehall expressed his excitement about returning to host the BRIT Awards in Manchester, a city he feels a strong connection to.
It’s incredible to be back! This city is where I started doing comedy, and hosting tonight at Co-op Live feels like everything has come full circle. The venue is practically next door to the club where I did my very first ten-minute set years ago. I’m hoping for a slightly better reaction this time around, but honestly, I’m just so excited!

Whitehall will once again be the venue for the BRIT Awards in 2025. It previously hosted the event in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Mo Gilligan hosted the show in both 2022 and 2023. In 2024, Maya Jama, Clara Amfo, and Roman Kemp shared hosting responsibilities.
As a huge fan of the BRITs, I was really pleased to hear Jack’s coming back to host again! Stacey Tang, who’s heading up the show this year and also works at Sony Music, said they’re thrilled to have him – and that he’s just incredibly talented. She also hinted he’ll bring his usual energy and playful spirit to the event, which I’m definitely looking forward to!
He’s a legendary awards show host, and with the BRITs starting a fresh chapter in his hometown, he’s the perfect choice to lead the biggest night in music.
