The Celebrity Traitors season 2 rumoured cast: Who could appear?

Everyone was talking about The Traitors on the BBC in late 2025, and they’re already preparing to film another exciting season later this year.

As a huge fan of The Traitors, I was thrilled to hear the BBC announced they’re making another series! It’s only been a few days since Alan Carr won, and already they’ve given the show the go-ahead for a second season. I can’t wait!

Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC Head of Entertainment, announced the show’s renewal, praising Studio Lambert for creating “The Celebrity Traitors,” which has become a national favorite. She highlighted its success in bringing record numbers of viewers together with its exciting and unpredictable moments.

The castle will reopen in 2026, inviting famous faces to compete in a new season of the game. Expect plenty of charm, strategy, and suspense as players battle to be the last one standing – series two promises to be just as captivating as the original.

Ever since the position became open, people have been eagerly guessing who might take it, and several well-known individuals have already expressed their interest.

Alright, let’s talk about who might be backstabbing and bluffing on season two of The Traitor. Everyone’s buzzing with rumors, so I’ve rounded up the names that are currently being thrown around. Let’s dive in and see who could be playing the game this time around.

Danny Dyer is an award-winning actor, famous for playing Mick Carter in the popular TV show EastEnders between 2013 and 2022. More recently, he’s worked on projects like Rivals and Mr Bigstuff, earning him a BAFTA award for his comedic performance in the latter.

Danny Dyer is rumored to be joining the next season of The Celebrity Traitors. He reportedly considered appearing on the first season but declined, and now seems to have changed his mind.

According to a source, Danny was always a prime candidate for The Celebrity Traitors, but he wasn’t interested in joining until he watched the show being filmed last fall. Once he saw how much fun everyone was having, he immediately signed on.

Alison Hammond

Age: 50

Job: TV presenter

Alison Hammond became well-known after appearing on Big Brother. She’s now a popular presenter on shows like This Morning and The Great British Bake Off.

There’s talk that Gemma Hammond is interested in joining the cast of The Celebrity Traitors, and sources at The Sun say she’s currently discussing a potential role with the BBC.

Daisy May Cooper

Age: 39

Job: Actress and writer

Instagram: @daisymaycooper

Daisy May Cooper is an actress and writer who gained recognition for playing Kerry Mucklowe in the BAFTA-winning comedy series This Country. She created and starred in the show alongside her brother, Charlie Cooper. She’s also appeared in Am I Being Unreasonable? and Rain Dogs.

There were rumors that Cooper would appear on the first season with her brother Charlie, but scheduling issues prevented it from happening.

According to a source, Daisy is a natural television star – incredibly funny and a perfect fit for the show. Producers are working hard to secure her involvement.

Ruth Jones

Age: 59

Job: Actress

Instagram: None

As a huge fan of British comedy, I’ve always loved Ruth Jones. She’s incredibly talented, both as an actress and a writer. Of course, she’s most famous for playing Nessa in Gavin & Stacey – that character is iconic! But she’s been in so much else too, like Fat Friends and Stella, and I recently enjoyed her work in Run Away. It’s great to see her consistently delivering fantastic performances.

According to The Sun, the BBC is considering several celebrities for a role, and sources say that Jones would be a great fit if she’s available.

Tom Hiddleston

Age: 44

Job: Actor

Instagram: @twhiddleston

Tom Hiddleston became well-known internationally for playing Loki in the Marvel movies. He’s since appeared in several popular and highly-rated projects, such as the TV series The Night Manager, the film War Horse, and the series The Essex Serpent.

Tom Hiddleston has expressed interest in being on the show, saying he’d prefer to be a member of the ‘Faithful’ team.

Tom Hiddleston, while chatting on BBC Radio 2 with Richie Anderson, expressed his enthusiasm for the show, calling its format “ingenious” and “completely compulsive.” He even suggested a celebrity version would be fantastic, and went on to say it might be the best television he’s ever watched.

He explained that playing the role of a Traitor is essentially an acting challenge. It’s a game where you constantly have to mislead others, hide your true intentions, and essentially tell lies.

It could be interesting, but I’m not sure. I think exploring the role of a Faithful would be more about satisfying my curiosity than anything else.

The second season of Celebrity Traitors will air on BBC One later in the year. You can currently watch the first season on BBC iPlayer.
