Work has started on Netflix’s fresh six-episode rendition of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and a sneak peek photo has been revealed to celebrate the start of filming.
The picture shows actors such as Emma Corrin and Olivia Colman, who previously worked together on The Crown’s fourth season, strolling across a meadow.
In the latest cast announcement, it’s revealed that they will portray Elizabeth and Mrs. Bennet, with Freya Mavor, Hopey Parish, Rhea Norwood, and Hollie Avery taking on the roles of Elizabeth’s sisters in the production.
In addition to the earlier mentioned Jack Lowden portraying Mr Darcy, we have Rufus Sewell stepping into the role of Mr Bennet, Louis Partridge taking on Mr Wickham, Jamie Demetriou for Mr Collins, Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourg, and Daryl McCormack cast as Mr Bingley.

Completing our ensemble are Siena Kelly (Caroline Bingley), Anjana Vasan (Mrs. Gardiner), Sebastian Armesto (Mr. Gardiner), Rosie Cavaliero (Lady Lucas), Saffron Coomber (Mrs. Hurst), James Dryden (Mr. Hurst), Justin Edwards (Sir William Lucas), James Northcote (Colonel Forster), Eloise Webb (Harriet Forster) and Isabella Sermon (Georgiana Darcy). Each one brings their unique charm to the story.
As a dedicated cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be part of a fascinating project: a series based on a captivating novel. This masterpiece is being penned by the brilliant Dolly Alderton, who has already wowed us with her work on “Everything I Know About Love”. The helm for this production will be skillfully guided by Euros Lyn, the genius behind the heartwarming series “Heartstopper”. The adaptation promises to be a loyal, timeless representation of the original novel.
In my perspective, there comes along only once in a while the privilege for an individual to reimagine such a captivating tale, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be included in that circle. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice serves as the timeless foundation for romantic comedy; diving back into its pages has been an absolute delight, as I’ve discovered both familiar gems and innovative approaches to breathe new life into this cherished novel.
Under the direction of Euros Lyn, we’re thrilled to present our talented ensemble once more. This time around, fans of Jane Austen’s beloved novel Pride and Prejudice will be delighted, as well as those encountering Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy for the first time!
