Fashion shows and music have always been closely linked, so it’s fitting that the highly anticipated return of Miranda Priestly will be paired with a powerful musical score.
Twenty years after the first movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2 brings Andy (Anne Hathaway) back to Runway magazine when it’s facing a difficult situation.
The movie first came out in 2006, when the publishing industry was very different. The new film will show this, as Andy reconnects with old colleagues like Stanley Tucci and Meryl Streep. Together, they’ll have to deal with a former assistant, played by Emily Blunt, who may determine the fate of the magazine.
A movie about the competitive fashion industry naturally needs a trendy and upbeat soundtrack.
And The Devil Wears Prada 2 definitely doesn’t disappoint on that front.
The film’s soundtrack is packed with pop superstars like Lady Gaga (who also makes an appearance in the movie), Chappell Roan, and Madonna. The first single released was “Runway” by Lady Gaga and Doechii, and it was prominently featured in the film’s trailer.
I’m getting so excited for this sequel! They haven’t released the complete soundtrack list yet, but we’ve already gotten a sneak peek at some of the songs that will be included, and honestly, it’s looking fantastic.
