The Division 2 teases an impressive new opponent for its next season — we have to wait a little longer to find out what the snow is all about, though

One could say that anyone familiar with me is well aware of my fondness for discussing The Division 2. Amongst the latest releases annually, it’s the live-service game I consistently revisit.

Regardless of already being deep into the seventh year and nearing the end of the initial season, there’s no indication of a letup. During their first panel at Gamescom in Cologne, Ubisoft detailed the upcoming plans for The Division 2.

Head’s up! Don’t miss our upcoming stream on August 22nd, Friday, to discover the mystery behind all the winter-themed hints we’ve been dropping so far.

In simpler terms, the second season of Year 7, titled “The Pact,” is set to release on September 9. And we’ve learned that the final season of Year 7 will be named “Mutiny.

In the ongoing saga of The Division 2, The Pact is set to intensify the conflict by introducing a new adversary. Once again, Washington D.C.’s streets will be a battleground as the original three enemy groups – Hyenas, Outcasts, and True Sons – have joined forces, creating an unholy alliance that was previously absent. (Note: Black Tusk has been excluded from this union as they appeared in the game’s endgame.)

The battle has shifted to involve three formidable groups of adversaries, and our information indicates that controlling territories will be crucial in this struggle. This seems to imply a larger-scale conflict rather than the smaller territory control missions frequently found on the map.

The narrative will continue after the peak point of the ongoing season, known as Crossroads, and progress towards Mutiny, which is expected to air around the end of this year and run up until March.

In March, we’re not just stepping into the beginning of Year 8, but also reaching a significant landmark for The Division. This occasion signifies the 10-year anniversary of the franchise, and although specifics are yet to be revealed, hints suggest that something extraordinary is in store.

As well you might imagine.

We didn’t receive any details about the “completely new” project related to snow. We’ll need to wait until Friday for more information on that. Additionally, updates on the ongoing development of the mobile game, The Division Resurgence, are also awaited.
