As a big fan of The Division, I’ve been eagerly awaiting news on The Division 3! Ubisoft has confirmed they’re working on it, but honestly, we haven’t heard much since they first mentioned it back in 2023. It’s been frustrating, and a lot of us have been wondering when we’d finally get some real updates. Well, we’ve gotten some news now, but unfortunately, it’s not exactly what we were hoping for.
Massive Entertainment recently announced on social media that it’s shifting its focus entirely to the The Division franchise. This decision comes after the releases of Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in the past year, both of which received mixed reviews from players and critics. As a result, Massive is entering a period of change that will include a reduction in staff. The company says it’s committed to handling these changes carefully and will provide financial and career support to affected employees.
Currently, these changes don’t appear to affect The Division 3. Massive Entertainment has confirmed that all of their Division games will continue as planned. They stated they will share more details about The Division 3 in the future, but haven’t announced a specific timeframe.

Massive Entertainment is still dedicated to its development plans and creating enjoyable games for players globally, including titles like The Division 2, The Division 2: Survivors, The Division Resurgence, and The Division 3. These projects are progressing well, and the team plans to reveal more details soon.
Currently, there’s no confirmed release date for The Division 3. While reports from earlier this year indicated a potential launch no sooner than 2027, recent studio restructuring at Massive Entertainment could push that date back even further. The good news is that Massive is still actively supporting The Division 2 with substantial updates, and there are no signs of that support stopping anytime soon.
