The Dog Stars – TRAILER

Jacob Elordi’s rising popularity continues as the trailer for his new film, The Dog Stars, is released. The film is directed by the legendary Ridley Scott, who at 89 years old, shows no signs of retirement and is already working on future projects, including a biopic about the Bee Gees.

What’s The Dog Stars Trailer about?

This story, based on Peter Heller’s popular novel, takes place in a world devastated by a virus that has nearly wiped out humankind. Those who remain struggle to survive, facing danger from ruthless groups known as Reapers. Hig, a pilot played by Jacob Elordi, is one of the survivors, but he’s lost everything – his wife and all his friends. He now lives a solitary life in an old airport hangar with his dog, his only company being a heavily armed former Marine. To escape the grim reality, Hig occasionally flies his vintage 1956 Cessna, seeking moments of peace through fishing and reminiscing about the past. When he unexpectedly receives a radio transmission, it sparks a glimmer of hope – the possibility of a safe haven in Grand Junction. Driven by this hope, he embarks on a dangerous journey, risking everything for a chance at a better life.

Jacob Elordi is joined by a talented supporting cast featuring Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney.

Some behind the scene facts…

Paul Mescal was initially going to star in the film, continuing his work with the director after Gladiator II. However, he had to withdraw to film a four-part Beatles project with Sam Mendes, at which point Jacob Elordi was cast. Following the positive reception to Frankenstein and the box office success of Wuthering Heights (which has already earned $240 million and continues to grow), Elordi is now a highly sought-after actor. A recent, unconfirmed rumor suggests he’s being considered for the role of James Bond – but many young actors are currently being linked to the part!

The Dog Stars is set for a 28th August release
