Larry Fink, the great and powerful CEO of BlackRock, has declared that the US dollar‘s reign is coming to an end. Or, as we like to call it, “Tuesday”.
He also hailed tokenization as a ‘democratization’ of markets, because who doesn’t love a good game of musical chairs on the stock exchange?

Larry Fink, CEO of the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, has been known to make bold predictions. But this one takes the biscuit. Or rather, the Bitcoin.

Fink warned that the US dollar’s dominance as the global reserve currency is at risk, and that Bitcoin could be the one to take its place. Because, you know, nothing says “stable currency” like a cryptocurrency that’s as volatile as a teenager’s mood.

The US currently has a debt of around $36 trillion, with interest payments alone amounting to nearly $1 trillion for 2025. Fink added, “By 2030, mandatory government spending and debt service will consume all federal revenue, creating a permanent deficit.” Or, as we like to call it, “business as usual”.

Great for BTC?

In 2023, Galaxy Digital founder Mike Novogratz made a similar projection, because one can never have too many doomsday scenarios. Rising fiscal debt raises fears of currency devaluation and inflation, because who needs a stable economy, anyway?

That said, BTC was valued at $83K ahead of President Donald Trump’s new tariffs update. Because, you know, nothing says “stable currency” like a cryptocurrency that’s as volatile as a politician’s hairdo.
