Xbox recently shared a hint about 2026 that has excited fans eagerly awaiting The Elder Scrolls 6. It’s been eight years since Bethesda first announced the next installment in The Elder Scrolls series after Skyrim, and updates have been scarce. This new tease from Xbox has definitely sparked some interest.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) recently shared that they’re looking forward to Forza Horizon 6 even more than GTA 6. This came in response to an Xbox post advertising their upcoming Developer Direct event on January 22nd. Xbox playfully replied, hinting at a big year for games with the number 6 in the title. This comment quickly caught the attention of The Elder Scrolls fans, who are eagerly awaiting news on The Elder Scrolls 6.
“They’re Teasing Us”
Almost immediately after this appeared, someone posted about it on the Reddit page for The Elder Scrolls 6, suggesting it was a deliberate hint. The comments on that post were divided – some people thought it was a genuine tease, while others believed it was just a joke. However, most agreed that the claim itself was pretty surprising.
One popular comment simply said, “That’s a wild statement!” Another user speculated that we might see a trailer for TESVI later in the year.
One person commented that the statement was painful to read, suggesting it might be a subtle clue, or completely irrelevant to The Elder Scrolls (TES). Another user called it a crazy thing to say, and expressed confidence that whoever made the statement knew exactly what they were doing.
It’s unlikely there’s any truth to the rumors. While a reveal of The Elder Scrolls 6 this year is possible, the person managing Xbox’s social media probably wouldn’t be the one to know. Most of the developers working on the game don’t even know the release date, so it’s highly improbable someone outside the project would have that information. If an Xbox executive hinted at it, then excitement might be justified. However, The Elder Scrolls fans are really hoping for news, and even a small chance is enough to keep them optimistic.
