The End of Oak Street – TRAILER

Director David Robert Mitchell, known for the acclaimed horror film ‘It Follows’ and ‘Under the Silver Lake’, hasn’t released a feature film in nine years. Now, the trailer for his new movie, ‘The End of Oak Street‘, is here, and it looks like a fun, thrilling ride with echoes of ‘Jurassic Park’.

The story….

Featuring Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery, the film tells the story of the Platt family, whose quiet suburban street is suddenly ripped away and transported to a strange, unknown location. To survive, they must rely on each other as they try to navigate this completely unfamiliar world.

David Robert Mitchell wrote and helped produce the film, alongside producers J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper. Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee, and Leeann Stonebreaker served as executive producers. Mitchell collaborated with a skilled crew including director of photography Michael Gioulakis, production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino, and costume designer Erin Benach.

Behind the scenes of The End of Oak Street trailer…

The movie was initially titled “Flowervale Street,” but the name changed when the first trailer was released. Oscar Isaac was originally going to star, but he left the project and was replaced by Ewan McGregor. The story is based on a classic 1960s episode of “The Outer Limits,” called ‘A Feasibility Study,’ which starred Sam Wanamaker and featured an entire neighborhood mysteriously moving to a different world. The episode was later updated and remade in the 1990s version of “The Outer Limits,” this time starring David McCallum.

THE END OF OAK STREET will be released in the UK and Ireland on the 14th August 2026
