Director David Robert Mitchell, known for the acclaimed horror film ‘It Follows’ and ‘Under the Silver Lake’, hasn’t released a feature film in nine years. Now, a trailer for his new movie, ‘The End of Oak Street‘, offers a first look at his latest work.
Featuring Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery, the film follows the Platt family when a strange cosmic event suddenly transports their suburban neighborhood to a completely unknown location. To survive, they must rely on each other as they try to navigate this unfamiliar and unrecognizable world.
David Robert Mitchell wrote and helped produce the film, alongside producers J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper. Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee, and Leeann Stonebreaker served as executive producers. Mitchell collaborated with a familiar crew, including director of photography Michael Gioulakis, production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino, and costume designer Erin Benach.
The movie was initially going to be called “Flowervale Street.” However, after the first trailer was released, and following Oscar Isaac’s departure, Ewan McGregor took over the lead role.
THE END OF OAK STREET will be released in the UK and Ireland on the 14th August 2026
