Although the original run of The Fairly OddParents is over, its creator, Butch Hartman, continues to expand the world of Timmy Turner, Cosmo, and Wanda. Hartman has built a large following on YouTube – over 850,000 subscribers – where he shares concept art for future projects and discusses his past work. Recently, he revealed who Timmy Turner eventually marries, offering a glimpse into the character’s life after the ten-season series ended.
I was so excited to see Butch Hartman recently confirmed something huge in a video – when Timmy Turner finally grows up, he ends up marrying Tootie! For those who might not remember, Tootie was totally in love with Timmy throughout the whole series, always hoping he’d feel the same way. It’s also pretty wild to think she’s Vicky’s sister – you know, Vicky, the super mean babysitter who was always causing trouble! In the video, Hartman also talked about other girls who could have been with Timmy when he got older, like Trixie and Chloe, but it seems like Tootie was always meant to be!
What’s Next For The OddParents?

After the original Fairly OddParents series ended in 2017, Nickelodeon brought the show back with a sequel, but Timmy Turner wasn’t part of it. The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish centers on Cosmo and Wanda finding a new child to grant wishes to, a girl named Hazel. Set years after the original, the revival also changed the animation style from traditional 2-D to computer-generated imagery. While the show got off to a good start, it’s still unclear what the future holds for Hazel and her fairy godparents.
The latest episode of A New Wish came out on Netflix in 2024. Although Netflix hasn’t officially cancelled the animated series, there’s been no announcement about it continuing. We spoke with the show’s creators in 2024 about their decision to focus the story on Hazel instead of Timmy. Co-Executive Producer Lindsay Katai explained the reasons behind introducing a new main character for the sequel, saying…
I noticed the new direction of the show really came from wanting to be different. They introduced a godchild who wished for different things, which immediately opened up a lot of new story possibilities. But it also felt like the right time to focus on more heartfelt stories. Honestly, some of the older jokes, like neglectful parents or a chainsaw-wielding babysitter, wouldn’t really fly with kids today. What worked in the late 90s and early 2000s just doesn’t land the same way now. So, while it started as a need to update things, it actually sparked a lot of creative inspiration to go deeper with the storytelling.
