The Forsytes first-look clip with Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson sees an awkward encounter between love rivals

This clip features Eleanor Tomlinson, known for her role in Poldark, as Louisa, a dressmaker who is the first love of Jo Forsyte, played by Danny Griffin.

Tuppence Middleton plays Frances Forsyte, the wife of Jo, who is very concerned with social standing. She and their daughter, June (played by Justine Moore), come to visit her shop.

When Louisa recognizes Frances, she gets embarrassed and uncomfortable. Frances steps away to make more calls, leaving June in the shop, and Louisa goes to another room to compose herself. You can see the scene in the video at the beginning of this article.

Featuring Millie Gibson, Joshua Orpin, Francesca Annis, Jack Davenport, Tom Durant Pritchard, and Stephen Moyer, *The Forsytes* tells the story of a wealthy stockbroking family in late Victorian England.

When cousins Jolyon and Soames unexpectedly cross paths with two different people, it disrupts the calm and secure lives they’ve built, potentially tearing their families apart.

Jolyon finds his life complicated when Louisa, a former love now working as a dressmaker, returns. His daughter, June, is falling for a struggling architect, and at the same time, Soames becomes captivated by Irene, a vibrant and independent dancer. Each of them faces a choice: will they follow their logic, or their feelings?

This series brings together Louis Tomlinson and Debbie Horsfield, the writer of *Poldark*, who also adapted this story for television.

In an interview with TopMob magazine, Horsfield hinted that the upcoming series won’t be a direct copy of the original, male-focused books.

We aimed to give the female characters more depth and development, while still ensuring the male characters remained well-developed too,” she explained.

Tomlinson described first reading the script for Louisa as incredibly exciting. After discussing the character’s background and story, she knew she wanted the part. “I was hooked,” she said.
