Following a disappointing release on Nintendo Switch and PC last August, *The House of the Dead 2: Remake* is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 24th. The game will be priced at $24.99 – you can watch the announcement trailer below.
This game is a reimagining of the 1998 classic rail shooter, following James Taylor and Gary Stewart as they fight through a zombie-infested city. It features updated graphics and remastered music, while the original version remains available. Players can team up in co-op mode, experience multiple different endings, and even challenge powerful bosses in a dedicated mode.
The remake hasn’t been well-received, unfortunately. Currently, it has a “Mostly Negative” rating on Steam, with only 39% of over 380 user reviews being positive. Players are reporting problems like jerky movement, poor performance, and buggy boss fights. It’s unclear if MegaPixel Studio will fix these issues for the console releases, so we’ll have to wait and see.
