The Hunger Games Star Reveals If They’d Return for Trilogy Sequel

The Hunger Games movies are now looking back in time with new prequel films, and one of the original actors has discussed the possibility of appearing in a future installment.

Josh Hutcherson, known for his role as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games movies, recently told Variety that he initially had no interest in revisiting the series after finishing it in 2015.

Hutcherson explained he immediately disliked the sudden fame he experienced. He said, ‘I really didn’t want any part of it.’ Being unexpectedly thrust into the public eye took away his privacy.

After some time away from the role, Hutcherson now sees it in a new light. He’s grateful for everything it’s brought to his life and would jump at the chance to return and work with his former castmates again.

Josh Hutcherson expressed his eagerness to reunite with his Hunger Games co-stars Francis Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Woody Harrelson. He said he wouldn’t need any persuading and would immediately jump at the chance to work with them again.

Adding to the mystery, Hutcherson was questioned about the new movie, Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is based on Suzanne Collins’ latest book, which tells the story of the Hunger Games through the eyes of a young Haymitch Abernathy. The story includes a section after the events of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay and will feature familiar characters like Peeta.

When questioned about a potential role in ‘Sunrise on the Reaping,’ Hutcherson called it a ‘dream come true,’ hinting that such dreams can sometimes happen.

“It would be amazing,” Hutcherson said, reflecting on whether such things really happen. “Do dreams actually come true? It’s hit or miss. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don’t.”
