The Internet Thinks an Iconic Marvel Character Is Going to Appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (Is It the Right Time?)

The upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie is shrouded in secrecy. While Peter Parker’s return is guaranteed, very little else is known. Marvel Studios isn’t revealing much about the film, not even confirming the involvement of actors like Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal. This has left industry publications to piece together information from rumors, which are often unreliable. For example, actress Sadie Sink has been connected to several different roles in the film, highlighting how quickly things can change.

Okay, so everyone’s buzzing about Sadie Sink potentially joining the next Spider-Man movie, and it’s easy to think she and Tom Holland will be the main focus. But it sounds like there’s going to be a whole cast! Apparently, there’s even going to be a new boyfriend character for Zendaya’s MJ. That’s all we know for now, but the internet is already exploding with guesses about who it could be – everyone’s trying to figure out who’s going to be with Peter next!

Harry Osborn is the most frequently suggested character fans want to see appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While he’s traditionally Peter Parker’s close friend in the comics, introducing him as an enemy would be a fresh take. This could also build towards a future storyline where he becomes a villain – something the MCU might need, especially since they’ve already used the Green Goblin. The biggest hurdle to bringing Harry in is the complexity of the ‘Brand New Day’ storyline, which could be difficult to adapt.

Brand New Day Might Not Have Room for Harry Osobrn

Even though Peter Parker got a fresh start at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, his next movie seems like it will be packed with challenges. So far, Scorpion is the only villain confirmed for Brand New Day, marking his return after first appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming. But he probably won’t be Spider-Man’s only enemy, and there’s even a possibility that a conflict with the Hulk could arise. Because of all this, Brand New Day doesn’t seem like the right time to introduce the character Harry Osborn.

It would be smarter for Marvel Studios to hold off on bringing Harry Osborn back until a future project like Spider-Man 5, where he could be properly developed. Rushing his return just for the sake of it would risk repeating the mistakes of Spider-Man 3, and that’s something fans want to avoid.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
