Today marks The Last of Us Day, celebrated every year on September 26th, to honor Naughty Dog’s popular game series.
To celebrate, Sony has made The Last of Us: Part II (for PlayStation 4) and The Last of Us: Part II Remastered (for PlayStation 5) available to PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. You can download both games right now.
The Last of Us Day marks the anniversary of the day the cordyceps infection began to spread rapidly in the first game, ultimately creating the devastated world featured in both games.
Naughty Dog usually releases merchandise and promotions alongside its games, but this year it seems the focus is simply on the game becoming available on PS Plus.
A lot of people have likely already played The Last of Us: Part II, but adding it to PS Plus Extra will let even more discover it – especially after the success of the second season of the HBO show earlier this year.
If it’s been a while since you last played, it might be a good time to jump back in! Naughty Dog has added a new way to experience the story with a chronological mode, and they’ve also made several other updates and improvements over time.
Will you be playing The Last of Us: Part II on PS Plus? Tell us in the comments section below.
