Bruce Straley worked at Naughty Dog for many years and helped direct some of their most popular games, including Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, The Last of Us, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
That’s not a bad resume, eh?
After experiencing burnout while working on major video games, he left Sony in 2017. In 2022, he started his own studio, Wildflower, where he’s currently developing a game he describes as completely unique.
Host Geoff Keighley announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the project will be officially unveiled at The Game Awards this week.
Details are still scarce, but a brief 30-second video released online offers a glimpse of what’s to come. The clip features a beautiful, forest-like landscape, and hints at a larger creature with the sound of something moving through the trees, followed by a bird flying away.
I was checking out the developer’s website, and they say they’re focused on making smaller games that are really creative and have a distinct style. They’re all about pushing the boundaries of what games can be, which is super exciting to me!
