Okay, so The Last of Us is really building up its season 3 cast! The latest addition is Li Jun Li, who I really enjoyed in Sinners. It’s great to see them bringing in such talented actors – it definitely has me even more excited for what’s to come.
Variety reports that in the third season of the post-apocalyptic series, the story will center on Kaitlyn Dever’s character, Abby. Joining the cast is Li, who will play Miriam, a member of the Seraphites and the mother of Lev and Yara.
The actress is famous for playing Grace Chow in Ryan Coogler’s Academy Award-winning film, Sinners, and will soon be seen alongside Nicolas Cage in Marvel’s Spider-Noir.
Michelle Mao will star as Yara and Kyriana Kratter as Lev, two siblings whose paths cross with Abby at a pivotal point in the story.
Season 3 of The Last of Us will focus on Abby’s story as a soldier in Seattle. We’ll see how her views change after she seeks revenge on Joel for the death of her father.

I’m thrilled to hear that Pedro Pascal isn’t the only familiar face coming back! Alongside him, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabella Merced as Dina, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac are all set to reprise their roles. That core cast really made the first season special, and I’m excited to see them all back for more.
The cast also includes Clea DuVall as a member of the Seraphites, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. will now play Manny. Patrick Wilson joins as Abby’s father, Jerry Anderson, and Jason Ritter will portray Hanley, a new soldier from the Washington Liberation Front.
Alongside these new additions, three returning faces have been promoted to regular roles.

Mel, Nora, and Owen—characters first seen in season 2—will all be central to the story in season 3.
The upcoming third season will see some major changes in how the show is made. Neil Druckmann, who co-created and co-ran the series, has stepped down after season two. Craig Mazin will now be the sole showrunner for what is expected to be the show’s last season.
When the project was announced, Mazin shared his excitement about collaborating with Neil, calling it a dream come true to adapt his work for HBO. He praised Neil as a generous and supportive creative partner. As a long-time fan of both Naughty Dog and Neil’s video games, Mazin also expressed his eagerness to play Neil’s future games.
I’ll keep working with our talented cast and crew to make the show our viewers love, while he handles other things. We’re thankful to Neil and Halley Gross for letting us tell the amazing story of The Last of Us Part II, and we appreciate the millions of people who watch it.
The Last of Us seasons 1-2 are available to watch on HBO Max.
