Even though Yellowstone finished, the world of the show is still going strong! I was so excited to see Marshals come out earlier this year – it’s packed with action. It was a huge hit when it premiered on CBS and Paramount+, and I heard they quickly agreed to make another season. But surprisingly, while a lot of us Yellowstone fans are still following Kayce Dutton’s story, another show created by Taylor Sheridan has actually become even more popular on Paramount+.
This past weekend, the drama series The Madison became the most-watched show on Paramount+. It topped Marshals in viewership, boosted by a particularly moving season finale. The show features a strong cast, including Michelle Pfeiffer, who has been nominated for an Oscar three times. While The Madison represents a departure from creator Taylor Sheridan’s popular westerns like Yellowstone, his dedicated fans are clearly sticking with him.
‘The Madison’ Is One of Taylor Sheridan’s Most Emotional Shows Yet
Despite initial reports, the new series The Madison isn’t connected to Yellowstone. It’s a standalone drama focusing on a wealthy New York family. The story centers around Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, who relocates her family to the Madison River valley in Montana after a tragic event. Kurt Russell plays her husband, Preston Clyburn, and has a significant role in the series. While different from Taylor Sheridan’s other work, The Madison offers a fresh and compelling story. The first three episodes launched on Paramount+ on March 14th, with the remaining three episodes premiering on March 21st.
Taylor Sheridan’s new series, The Madison, boasts a particularly strong cast. Alongside Michelle Pfeiffer and David Russell are Beau Garrett (known from Firefly Lane), Elle Chapman (A Man Called Otto), Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes), Alaina Pollack (The Surrender), Ben Schnetzer (3 Body Problem), Kevin Zegers (Power), Rebecca Spence (Lady in the Lake), Danielle Vasinova (1923), Matthew Fox (Lost), and Will Arnett (Is This Thing On?). Here’s what the series is about:
Meet the Clyburns in The Madison, a moving story about loss and finding connection. It follows a family from New York City as they navigate life in the beautiful Madison River Valley of Montana.
It’s Already Getting a Season 2

Paramount+
Reviews for The Madison are somewhat divided, earning a 59% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but viewers are really enjoying it. The streaming platform clearly anticipated this success and renewed the show for a second season even before it premiered in mid-March. Kurt Russell had already filmed his scenes for Season 2, as the creative team planned for his involvement early in the development of Season 1. They adjusted the production schedule to accommodate Russell’s commitments to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, allowing him to appear in both shows. Now, fans can rest assured that The Madison will have a second season, though its future beyond that remains uncertain.
