The Magic Faraway Tree – TRAILER

Why The Magic Faraway Tree trailer?

Many people who grew up with early Channel 4 might recall its launch night and the playful, updated take on Enid Blyton’s Famous Five – “Five Go Mad in Dorset” – which offered a very different spin on those classic adventures. Despite that modern interpretation, Blyton’s books remain popular. Following the success of recent children’s revivals like Paddington, there’s renewed interest in Blyton’s work, and the trailer for a new adaptation of “The Magic Faraway Tree” looks wonderfully enchanting.

What’s The Magic Faraway Tree about?

In The Magic Faraway Tree, Polly and Tim, along with their three children, move to the quiet English countryside. While settling in, the children stumble upon a magical tree inhabited by wonderfully quirky characters like Moonface, Silky, Dame Washalot, and Saucepan Man. Each adventure takes them to amazing, fantastical worlds, and through these experiences, the family begins to reconnect and appreciate one another after years of distance.

Behind the scenes…..

This film boasts an incredible cast, including Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie, Jessica Gunning, Dustin Demri-Burns, Mark Heap, Oliver Chris, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, and Simon Russell Beale, alongside Jennifer Saunders and Rebecca Ferguson. We’re particularly excited to see Simon Farnaby, who not only appears in the film but also wrote the script. He’s proven his talent with adaptations, having penned the BAFTA-nominated Paddington 2, and you might also enjoy his films The Phantom of the Open (starring Mark Rylance) and the wonderfully quirky comedy Mindhorn, where he delivers a memorably eccentric Dutch accent.

THE MAGIC FARAWAY TREE is in UK and Ireland cinemas on 27th March 2026
