
After almost ten years, Marvel has given fans their first official glimpse of Michael Mando as the classic Spider-Man villain Scorpion (also known as Mac Gargan) in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This short clip was part of a marketing strategy by Sony and Marvel, releasing bits of information throughout the day before the full trailer came out.
The character of Scorpion’s origins were hinted at in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Mac Gargan, then a customer of the Vulture, was sent to prison and swore revenge on Spider-Man. He disappeared for a while, likely serving his time and secretly working on the high-tech upgrades he’d requested from Toomes.
