The Night Manager season 2 finally reveals first-look images as Tom Hiddleston returns with new stars – but who isn’t returning?

The BBC first announced a continuation of The Night Manager 19 months ago, and now fans can look forward to both a second and third season.

It’s been nearly a decade since the show, adapted from John le Carré’s 1993 novel, first aired. Fans have been eagerly anticipating its return for quite some time.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting news, and now the first images from season two of The Night Manager have been released, suggesting the premiere is coming soon.

The photos feature Tom Hiddleston and Olivia Colman reprising their roles as Jonathan Pine and Angela Burr. They also introduce new cast members Diego Calva as Teddy Dos Santos, Camila Morrone as Roxana Bolaños, and Indira Varma, known from Doctor Who.

A particularly striking image hints at a romantic connection between the characters played by Pine, Calva, and Morrone. See all the photos in the gallery below.

Tom Hiddleston, Camila Morrone and Diego Calva in The Night Manager season 2.

Season 2 will likely bring back actors Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone, and Noah Jupe, but some key cast members won’t be returning.

Okay, so don’t expect to see Hugh Laurie, Tom Hollander, or Elizabeth Debicki back for another season. Honestly, with how things ended for their characters, that’s not much of a surprise – and in some cases, it wouldn’t even make sense for them to return.

The cast is expanding with the addition of Paul Chahidi, known for his work in “Wicked Little Letters,” and Hayley Squires, who starred in “Adult Material.” Both actors will play important roles in the story.

Vanity Fair reports that in season 2, Pine will be operating under the name Alex Goodwin, posing as a minor MI6 agent who oversees a low-key surveillance team in London.

Pine unexpectedly reconnects with a former mercenary, leading him into a dangerous new assignment connected to Teddy Dos Santos, a Colombian businessman. During this mission, he encounters Roxana Bolaños, a businesswoman who, despite her reservations, agrees to help him infiltrate Teddy’s arms dealing operation in Colombia.

Charlotte Moore, the BBC’s head of programming, announced that “The Night Manager” would be back for two more seasons, saying she was thrilled to finally confirm the show’s return after years of rumors.

Simon and Stephen Cornwell, Le Carré’s sons and the heads of The Ink Factory production company, explained that continuing the story of the character Pine involves expanding beyond what their father originally wrote. They said this wasn’t a decision they made easily, but they were drawn in by the strength of the characters and David’s exciting plans for the future.
