Looking forward to the upcoming premiere of “The Paper,” a spin-off from the American adaptation of The Office, which has already secured a second season!
Restarting the series is not just a sign of Peacock’s confidence in the program, but it might also speed up the production process for season 2, potentially allowing The Paper to be back on our screens as soon as the next year. Given that it hasn’t even premiered yet, this is quite promising.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel excited when I think about what Greg Daniels, one of the brilliant minds behind this remarkable paper, shared with Variety. He mentioned that he and his team are brimming with ideas for another season! It’s truly heartening to know there might be more to look forward to from these creative masterminds.
He mentioned that they have been discussing potential storylines for a potential season 2, and he finds it intriguing to see the audience’s reaction. They have received positive feedback from colleagues, journalists, and friends, but he acknowledges that the broader community of Office enthusiasts might have different opinions.

According to reports from Deadline, it appears that Sky, the network home to The Paper in the UK, is dedicated to renewing the series for a second season.
In this revised version, the main cast of the movie includes Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. At present, it is confirmed that Oscar Nunez will reprise his role from The Office as Oscar Martinez.
As a dedicated fan, I can tell you that the official summary of the show reveals it’s about us, the crew who made the iconic Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch in the hit series The Office (US), as we embark on a new journey. We stumble upon an old Midwestern newspaper and its publisher who is attempting to breathe life back into it.
Gleeson recently shared insights with TopMob on how The Paper differs from American and British versions of The Office, noting that while there was an element of awkward humor associated with characters like David Brent and Michael Scott, this was a significant part of their appeal.
The two characters are strikingly distinct, with the actors giving them unique personalities. Moreover, the comedic styles of each program differ significantly. In a way that’s reminiscent of The Office (US version), this one shares a similar tone but offers a unique take.
It seems incredibly inspiring in numerous aspects, focusing on persevering in the face of adversity, even when things seem unfavorable. I found this quality particularly endearing, and I hope that it’s one of the elements that sets it apart.
The Paper premieres on Sky Max and NOW on Friday 5th September 2025.
