The Only Comic Book Movie Starring Denzel Washington Is Streaming (And It’s Free)

A limited number of actors can boast careers as illustrious and multifaceted as Denzel Washington‘s. Ranging from portraying Malcolm X to starring in Training Day, and even Gladiator II, this versatile performer has tackled almost every role imaginable, consistently delivering outstanding performances. In an unexpected twist, he will soon lend his talent to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, potentially appearing in a third Black Panther film directed by Ryan Coogler. It’s worth noting that this upcoming Marvel appearance will only be Washington’s second foray into the world of comic book movies.

The initial production wasn’t based on a Marvel or DC universe, but rather a screen adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic “2 Guns,” which Denzel Washington starred in alongside Mark Wahlberg back in 2013. Currently, you can watch the film version of “2 Guns” for free online.

Earlier this month, 2 Guns joined Tubi’s roster of free movies, offering many Washington fans an excellent chance to watch it. Initially, when it premiered in cinemas, it didn’t achieve blockbuster status, earning roughly $132 million at the box office. The film’s reception from both critics and viewers has always been divided. However, with its free streaming availability on Tubi, 2 Guns now attracts a wider audience that might have previously been discouraged by its mixed reviews.

The movie adheres to a conventional buddy cop structure, yet it uniquely centers around two criminals dealing with issues at the border between Mexico and America, after an altercation with a drug lord. It’s a fairly predictable film, but Washington’s acting and some well-executed action scenes make it stand out.

New Free Movies and Shows on Tubi

Among the numerous films recently added to Tubi’s streaming library in early July, I found myself drawn to “2 Guns”. While it may not be the most prominent title compared to others like “Jurassic World” or “Final Destination”, it still holds an appealing allure for me.
