The Outrageously Over-the-Top Fast & Furious Arcade Game Is Coming to PS5

Have you tried out Cruis’n Blast on your Nintendo Switch yet? While we don’t get to discuss it much due to Nintendo owning the franchise, I must say that it is simply fantastic – almost unbelievably enjoyable!

The item is produced by Raw Thrills, a company known for creating several Fast & Furious arcade games, among them one that was released in 2022. This game bears striking similarities to Cruis’n Blast, featuring incredibly exaggerated tracks packed with action at every turn.

And that version’s now coming to PS5, courtesy of GameMill Entertainment.

You might think that the user interface resembles an amateur mobile game and the graphics seem quite inexpensive. While your observations may be accurate, it’s worth noting that the sheer chaotic fun embodied by racers like this takes us back to nostalgic times when games such as Ridge Racer dominated the gaming landscape.

By embracing the simple, old-school charm of the game, you can appreciate its unique appeal and understand why it evokes fond memories of classic gaming experiences.

The game’s due out on 24th October, and here’s what the press release says:

Experience the excitement of racing individually or side by side with a friend on every track from this classic arcade game. Destroyable surroundings, alternate routes, and hidden shortcuts provide a dynamic twist to each competition, rewarding those who dare to take risks. Overcome adrenaline-pumping tasks with significant consequences such as intercepting a missile in the Swiss Alps or forcing a plane to land in bustling Hong Kong.

Just as Cruis’n Blast appears to offer a relatively simple gaming experience, we might anticipate that this game will also be light in terms of content. The synopsis suggests features like car customization, local multiplayer mode, and secret shortcuts, which could indicate that it may not provide prolonged engagement.

The cars that have been licensed are present in our selection, which features the Dodge Charger, Ford GT, and Shelby GT500 KR. If it maintains a stable 60 frames per second, we’re good to go. We plan on acquiring this one ourselves. What about you?
