Man, as a long-time Marvel fan, it’s awesome to see the Marvel Knights line making a comeback! For those who don’t know, Marvel Knights was a huge deal back in the late 90s, and it really changed things up. I’m especially excited because Joe Quesada, one of the original creators, is helping to bring it back with this new series, Marvel Knights: The World to Come. Even cooler, Christopher Priest, another original creator from that era, is writing it! Jimmy Palmiotti, the third founder, is also involved, which is just fantastic. It feels like the original team is getting back together, and I’m really hyped to see what they do with this future-set series.

VARIANT COVER BY MICHELE BANDINI

Can you believe it? Frank Castle is behind bars! But capturing him was only the beginning. This issue takes things to a whole new level – prepare to be shocked, disturbed, and completely gripped by the story. You won’t want to put it down!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$4.99
Preview pages reveal the Punisher heading out to sea to carry out violent acts for his criminal employer. Unfortunately, a dangerous storm is brewing. But the Punisher, now completely transformed into “El Zombie,” isn’t thinking clearly and doesn’t seem to care about the risk. When warned about the storm, he simply repeats that he is El Zombie. This highlights the danger of turning someone into a weapon – stripping away their mind can create unforeseen problems.
Suddenly, lightning began striking the water around the boat, violently tossing it and throwing the Punisher into the sea.
As the Punisher drowns, he remembers his life, including the recent struggles where he almost became the criminal he’d been fighting against. But nearly dying seems to snap him out of whatever was controlling him.
At the end of the preview, it looks like the Punisher might be overcoming the mind control that turned him into “El Zombie.” You’ll need to read Marvel Knight: Punisher #2 next week to confirm if he’s truly broken free!
