The Rookie Crossover with Game Changer

In a surprising TV event, The Rookie will be crossing over with the popular Dropout game show Game Changer. The ninth episode of The Rookie‘s eighth season, titled “Fun and Games,” will feature the show’s police officers—led by Nathan Fillion—visiting the Game Changer set to investigate a robbery.

In addition to the main cast, “Fun and Games” will include some familiar faces from the Dropout series Game Changer. Expect to see host Sam Reich, as well as frequent Dropout players Vic Michaelis, Jacob Wysocki, Zac Oyama, and Anna Garcia.

Fans can catch a special crossover event between The Rookie and Game Changer on ABC on March 2nd at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. The episode, titled “Fun and Games,” will then be available to stream on Hulu starting the following day.

In this episode, Harper and Miles are both dealing with the consequences of their actions. Harper is also assigned to train Miles. Meanwhile, Nolan and Celina respond to a robbery at Dropout TV Studios, where Nolan runs into someone he knows.

The Rookie Crossover Could Bring More Eyes to Dropout

Dropout, formerly known as CollegeHumour, is a comedy streaming service that operates independently. While Game Changer is its most popular show, Dropout also features a variety of other programs, including the actual-play series Dimension 20, Make Some Noise (a spin-off of Game Changer), the improv comedy series Very Important People, and the trivia show Um, Actually. Recently, Dropout added its first licensed series, bringing the British comedy Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared to its platform.

Dropout has officially surpassed 1 million subscribers! The show The Rookie is expected to further increase the platform’s visibility and attract new viewers through its availability on ABC and Hulu.

This Isn’t The Rookie’s First Crossover

This isn’t the first time The Rookie has crossed over with another show. Back in Season 2, the episode “The Overnight” featured American Idol.

The moment was a reference to Melissa O’Neil, the actress who plays Lucy Chen, winning the third season of Canadian Idol.

The police drama The Rookie features Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, alongside Mekia Cox, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Jenna Dewan, Shawn Ashmore, Lisseth Chavez, and Deric Augustine. The series was created by Alexi Hawley.
