The latest episode of The Simpsons Season 37 delivered a surprisingly perfect team-up that fans are loving. With FOX renewing the show for four more seasons, there are plenty more stories to come. Despite being on the air for so long, the series continues to find fresh and interesting ways to develop its iconic characters, and this recent episode is a great example of that.
Over the years, The Simpsons has occasionally paired Bart and Professor Frink, hinting at a surprising connection between them. The latest episode really highlights how much they have in common, showing a genuine bond that’s only been briefly suggested before. They share a similar way of thinking, and their relationship feels like a promising mentor-student dynamic that could be further explored in future episodes.
The Simpsons Proves Bart and Frink are the Perfect Team
In the latest episode of The Simpsons, Bart and Lisa visit a board game store where their classmate Martin needs a substitute player for his Dungeons & Dragons game. Bart fills in, but quickly disrupts the game by attempting to eliminate Martin’s character. Professor Frink intervenes, trying to save the character, but ends up losing his own. To make amends, Marge encourages Bart to spend time with Frink, and Bart’s natural curiosity leads to him becoming Frink’s lab assistant.
It’s become clear that Bart is surprisingly clever, especially when planning his pranks, and this intelligence is similar to the kind Professor Frink uses in his experiments. They quickly become close friends, with Frink genuinely respecting Bart and acknowledging his intelligence, even pushing him to recognize his own potential and stop underestimating himself. Bart, in return, helps Frink become more confident in social situations.
This Team Up Could Be a Big Deal

While The Simpsons usually maintains the same overall situation, it occasionally introduces changes that last, and this feels like one of them. Bart and Professor Frink unexpectedly work really well together – Bart helps Frink overcome his shyness and social difficulties, while Frink helps Bart achieve his full potential. They’ve appeared together in past episodes like “Future-Drama,” “Bart’s Brain,” and the Treehouse of Horror series, but this time their connection feels much more meaningful.
The show should definitely team up Bart and Professor Frink more often. It hints that Frink will one day offer Bart a scholarship to a great university – something Lisa won’t be thrilled about – and these interactions could be a fun way to build towards that future storyline. As the series goes on, it would be great to see them work together in more episodes.
