The past year has been challenging for The Sims 4, with players experiencing ongoing bugs and the recent sale of the franchise creating uncertainty about its future. However, the development team is still dedicated to improving the game, working on a significant update to enhance gameplay and add fresh content. While there won’t be any large expansion packs released in 2025, EA recently surprised fans by announcing a new series of collaboration Kits alongside a major Sims 4 update. Starting December 4th, players can now decorate their Sims’ homes to look exactly like the iconic pineapple home of SpongeBob SquarePants.
On December 2nd, The Sims 4 received a large update to fix several long-standing issues – which fans anticipated. However, the announcement of new kits, especially collaborations with other brands, was a surprise. Now, The Sims 4 is offering two new kits filled with decorations inspired by the popular Nickelodeon show, SpongeBob SquarePants. This crossover was unexpected, and there’s even more to come! The Sims 4 is also hosting a new SpongeBob SquarePants themed holiday event for all players. Here’s a breakdown of everything we know about this surprising partnership.
The Sims 4 Celebrates SpongeBob With In-Game Event & New Collab Kits

As a huge Sims fan, I was excited to see the new SpongeBob kits! Like with most Sims 4 DLC, you have to buy them separately. You can grab either the SpongeBob’s House Kit or the SpongeBob Kids Room Kit individually, or get both in a bundle while it’s still available. They’re packed with fun decorations so you can build SpongeBob’s iconic pineapple home or create a super playful bedroom for your Sims’ kids. And the cool thing is, even if you don’t want to buy the kits, there’s still some SpongeBob-themed content to enjoy in The Sims 4!
So, EA just announced a ‘Deck the Palms’ event in The Sims 4 running from December 16th to January 11th, 2026, alongside those new collab kits! And honestly? I’m hyped. They’re giving away free SpongeBob stuff just for logging in – things like a Krabby Patty recipe and Create-a-Sim items inspired by the show. I’m a total recipe collector, so you better believe I’m going to be logging in every day to snag that Krabby Patty formula, just like Plankton!
What’s Included in The Sims 4: SpongeBob’s House Kit

This kit includes 21 decorations inspired by SpongeBob’s house! You can buy the SpongeBob’s House Kit for $6.99, or get it as part of the Bikini Bottom Bundle for $10. Inside, you’ll find accurate replicas of items from the show, like SpongeBob’s foghorn alarm clock, TV, and even a Magic Conch to display anywhere you choose.
This kit is a fun addition to The Sims 4 for fans of SpongeBob SquarePants, offering plenty of themed items and playful references – even a light to keep the darkness away! However, these items are very specifically designed for a SpongeBob aesthetic and might not fit in with other styles. If you’re hoping to build a Bikini Bottom-inspired house or just add a touch of fun to your game, this kit makes it much simpler.
What’s Included in The Sims 4: SpongeBob Kids Room Kit

The SpongeBob Kids Room Kit adds 19 new toys and decorations for children in The Sims. It’s available now for $6.99, and is also included in the limited-time Bikini Bottom Bundle, which is available through March 3rd, 2026. The kit features a Flying Dutchman playset, a Krusty Krab playhouse, and plush toys of SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy, plus other fun room decorations.
Just like the SpongeBob’s House Kit, this is a really fun and well-done collaboration. I think these items are more versatile than the home decorations, since any child Sim could enjoy them even in a house that isn’t decorated in a cartoon style. If you love SpongeBob and want your child Sims to have some SpongeBob-themed toys, this kit is perfect.
You can now get SpongeBob SquarePants-themed items for The Sims 4 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation! The special bundle is available until March 3rd, but both kits will continue to be available in the game after that. Plus, if you log in between December 16th and January 3rd, 2026, you can snag some SpongeBob goodies for free!
