THE SWEENEY: SERIES TWO IS RELEASED ON BLU-RAY ON 1 SEPTEMBER
“WE WANNA TALK TO YOU!”
THE SWEENEY SERIES TWO COLLECTOR’S EDITION BLU-RAY BOX SET RELEASES THIS SEPTEMBER
Following hot on the heels of their successful first series box set, Old Gold Media is thrilled to introduce the launch of the Collector’s Edition of The Sweeney Series Two, available on Blu-ray starting from September 1st.
For the 50th anniversary edition of Series One, the classic police show undergoes a digital restoration and remastering process for the very first time, maintaining its original television format, offering both the original 2.0 mono audio and newly added 5.1 sound settings.
In the second series of the groundbreaking police drama that shattered TV conventions half a century ago, the challenges for Detective Inspector Jack Regan (John Thaw) and Detective Sergeant George Carter (Dennis Waterman) have never been greater. They grapple with the tragic loss in a hit-and-run accident, the rescue of hostages during a bank robbery gone awry, and the pursuit of relentless Australian criminals. The Flying Squad will go to any lengths to maintain London’s safety – including cooperating with questionable informants or being framed for corruption and attacked by those within their own ranks. This season promises larger, more intense, and action-packed scenarios.
In Series Two, you’ll find actors like Lynda Bellingham from “Doctor Who”, Lesley-Anne Down of “The Pink Panther Strikes Again”, Gwen Taylor known for “Duty Free”, Michael Sheard famous for “Grange Hill”, Peter Vaughan who was in “Game of Thrones”, Patrick Mower starring in “Emmerdale”, James Booth from “Zulu”, and Ronald Lacey best recognized for “Raiders of the Lost Ark”. The scriptwriters include Roger Marshall, Trevor Preston, and Murray Smith. So, is it as great as the pioneering first series? Mate, I’d say it’s even better!
This comprehensive collector’s edition box set, featuring all thirteen episodes from season two, comes complete with a booklet and boasts an abundance of special features and extra content. This includes interviews, introductions, and commentaries. Don’t miss out on it, or else we might be forced to intervene!
