The 2019 movie titled “Ready or Not” achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success, offering a satirical depiction of the one percent with an outstanding performance from Samara Weaving that marked her as a rising star. Given its combination of suspense, gore, and dark humor, it quickly gained a dedicated fanbase eager for more. Currently in development is a sequel titled “Ready or Not: Here I Come“, which will see the return of Weaving’s character Grace, along with several new cast members like Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Elijah Wood. Recently, Wood, who is among the new cast members given early access to the script, has shared some intriguing hints about the sequel’s narrative and how it ties into the original’s thrilling conclusion.
Wood, while promoting his latest project, expressed his admiration for Radio Silence’s films, particularly ‘Ready or Not’. He found the movie exhilarating and appreciated Samara in it, as well as the ensemble cast and the introduction to the mythology. Wood hinted that the sequel would further develop the mythology, making him excited for the audience to witness it. The film continues right after the first one ends, enhancing all the appealing aspects of the original.
Grace, completely soaked in blood from her destroyed in-laws, leisurely smokes a cigarette on the steps of the Le Domas family mansion as police arrive. Earlier, it was revealed that writer Guy Busick had confirmed the plot of “Ready or Not: Here I Come” will place Grace in a hospital without any lapse in time, compelled to participate in “another more bizarre, larger game.” The follow-up film is set to reunite the original writing team consisting of Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett also returning for the project.
Elijah Wood Will Be Seen Next on The Toxic Avenger

Prior to participating in the Le Domas family’s cursed games, Elijah Wood was involved in the resurgence of a significant genre by starring in the film The Toxic Avenger. This new production is a remake of the notorious 1984 cult favorite from Troma Entertainment, a studio recognized for its low-budget, independent gore movies. The original storyline followed an unassuming janitor who was transformed into a grotesque superhero after falling into a vat of toxic waste, becoming a cult figure and the long-standing symbol of the Troma brand. The latest installment, penned by Macon Blair, offers a more commercially viable yet still brutally violent and darkly humorous interpretation of the hero’s beginnings.
In this revamped story, we meet Winston Gooze, portrayed by Peter Dinklage, a janitor and stepfather who finds himself in dire straits after receiving a lethal medical prognosis and an encounter with an unscrupulous corporation. This encounter leads to a disturbing transformation akin to toxicity within him. He then assumes the identity of Toxie, a formidable vigilante, employing his newfound superhuman might to safeguard his son and community from the corporate greed that precipitated his metamorphosis. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble, with Kevin Bacon playing the main antagonist, Bob Garbinger, and Taylour Paige also featured.
In The Toxic Avenger, Wood portrays Fritz Garbinger, Bob’s unusual and deformed younger brother. This character finds the actor slouched and largely bald, serving as a henchman. Wood mentioned that his character came from a challenging childhood, yearning for the approval of his more accomplished brother. The reboot, which premiered successfully at Fantastic Fest in 2023, has garnered positive reviews due to its dedication to practical gore effects and its unexpectedly heartfelt narrative.
The movie titled “Ready or Not: Here I Come” will hit theaters on April 10, 2026. Conversely, the film known as “The Toxic Avenger” has already made its theater debut today.
