Good news for fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead! The popular franchise is teaming up with a surprising new partner. Since it first aired in 2010, The Walking Dead has grown far beyond the original comic books, becoming a huge world of TV shows, spin-offs, video games, and more. The franchise previously worked with Telltale Games on some successful titles. While video game partnerships were expected, this latest collaboration is definitely a surprise.
A special event is coming to World of Tanks inspired by The Walking Dead! The “Battle Pass Special: The Walking Dead” launches on November 6, 2025, and will include content themed around the popular TV show. Players can unlock iconic characters like Rick Grimes, Negan, Daryl Dixon, the Governor, and Michonne. Rick and Negan are unlocked as you progress through the battle pass, while Daryl, the Governor, and Michonne are available through in-game bundles and come with special perks to enhance gameplay.
Return to the World of The Walking Dead in World of Tanks

Players can drive the powerful H3 tank as they battle through the world of The Walking Dead. This tank has a quick-loading five-round autoloader – it reloads in about five seconds, with a full reload taking 28 seconds. It deals an average of 400-515 damage per shot and can penetrate up to 60mm of armor. Beyond the tank itself, players can find plenty of useful supplies and rewards. You can even customize your H3 with items inspired by the show, like a rattling, chained-up locker with the warning “DON’T OPEN DEAD INSIDE,” hinting that something is struggling inside.
The accessories inspired by The Walking Dead aren’t just for the H3 vehicle; most top-level vehicles can use them. It’s unusual to see The Walking Dead and this game combined, but the mix actually works surprisingly well. Players will find plenty to do with lots of special missions and character-focused objectives as they navigate the dangerous world of The Walking Dead, and they can do it with powerful vehicles! However, only Norman Reedus provided voice acting for the Battle Pass; the other characters feature custom voices.
While The Walking Dead is full of dangers, this collaboration with World of Tanks seems to center on the core tank gameplay. Don’t expect to see zombies wandering around getting run over – the developers have smartly focused on creating a thematic environment instead of overwhelming the game with hordes of the undead. This allows players to enjoy the World of Tanks experience they already love, but with a cool Walking Dead atmosphere, making this a surprisingly effective and worthwhile partnership.
