There’s More Bluey Coming to Disney+ In a New Format

In March 2026, Disney+ will expand the world of the popular animated series Bluey with some exciting new content. Subscribers can look forward to both a filmed stage show and a series of short episodes.

I’m so excited about the new Bluey content on the streaming service! It’s not just more episodes, but they’re also adding different kinds of things to watch, which is really cool.

Filmed Stage Production Arrives on Disney+

As a huge Bluey fan, I’m so excited to share that Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show is coming to Disney+! It’s basically a recording of the live show that’s been touring, and it’ll be available to stream starting March 16, 2026. I can’t wait to watch it over and over again!

This stage show brings a popular cartoon series to life for theatergoers. Actors use big, impressive puppets to play the characters, and the set and music help recreate the show’s unique world.

Joe Brumm, the creator of Bluey, wrote the story for the stage show. Joff Bush, who composes the music for the TV series, also created the music for the live production.

Since it first opened, the show has been performed around the world. It’s been staged in countries across Australia, the UK, Ireland, Asia, South Africa, Europe, and North America.

The Disney+ release allows audiences to watch the theatrical production in a filmed format.

Short “Minisodes” Planned for Disney+

Disney+ is adding a batch of short “Bluey” episodes, called “Bluey Minisodes.” Ten of these little stories will be available to stream starting May 20, 2026.

Each short episode usually lasts between one and three minutes and features little scenes from the everyday lives of Bluey, Bingo, and their family.

These short episodes offer more detail about the regular events and games featured in the main show. Because they’re brief, each one focuses on a single funny moment or activity.

Disney has shared short Bluey episodes as extra content alongside the main series. These mini-episodes have been released online and through Disney’s channels for kids’ shows.

New Disney Parks Stage Experience

Disney is creating a live show based on the popular series, called “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!”. It will open at Disneyland Park on March 22, 2026.

Join Bluey and Bingo live at the Fantasyland Theatre! The show features fun games and songs based on your favorite moments from the TV show, with performers and musicians joining the pups on stage.

I recently checked out this show, and it’s running all year long as Disneyland celebrates its big 70th anniversary! It’s a fun addition to the festivities and definitely worth seeing if you’re planning a trip.

Upcoming Bluey Movie

The popular show Bluey is getting a movie! It’s planned to come out in theaters on August 6, 2027.

The new Bluey movie is created by Joe Brumm, who also created the original series, and produced by Ludo Studio with BBC Studios. Walt Disney Studios will release the movie in cinemas worldwide before it becomes available to stream on Disney+. Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack will return to voice Bluey’s parents, Chilli and Bandit, in this first-ever full-length Bluey adventure for the big screen.

A Growing Franchise

The popular cartoon Bluey originally started airing in Australia. It’s made by Ludo Studio for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Studios.

Disney+ is expanding how fans can experience its content. New releases will include full episodes, quick short-form videos, and a recorded stage show.
