The Steam Deck, launched by Valve in 2022, quickly changed the way people think about handheld gaming by offering a powerful portable computer for playing games. It allows players to enjoy titles from their existing Steam library anywhere, and has been very popular, with different versions available offering varying screen sizes and storage. While most games work great on the Steam Deck, some are specifically designed to take full advantage of its features. In 2025, many games were played on Steam Decks, but these five titles particularly impressed with their stunning visuals on the handheld’s screen.
1) Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong was a huge hit in 2025, and it looks fantastic on the Steam Deck. The game’s beautiful art style really shines on the handheld’s screen, especially because it’s designed to perfectly fit the Steam Deck’s resolution. It’s visually stunning, though players might find themselves needing to recharge frequently! Even without the Steam Deck’s native support, Silksong would likely look great – it’s a well-made game that has rightfully earned numerous awards and nominations.
2) Blue Prince

The puzzle adventure game Blue Prince is a fantastic fit for the Steam Deck. It boasts incredibly detailed graphics across its 46 rooms, and the gameplay revolves around strategically selecting rooms to reach the final one. Each room presents unique challenges and items, including puzzles, that players must overcome. The game looks beautiful on the Steam Deck’s screen and typically runs at a smooth 60 frames per second. However, some players have found that lowering the frame rate to 45 FPS helps extend battery life without sacrificing visual quality, making for an even better experience.
3) Dispatch

Episodic adventure games generally look great on the Steam Deck, but Dispatch, released in 2025, is truly exceptional. Its visuals are a perfect fit for the handheld console, and it runs incredibly smoothly. Dispatch has also been a huge success, selling over 2 million copies in its first month. The simple three-button controls work flawlessly, and the text is large and clear, making it easy to read and select options on the Steam Deck’s screen.
4) Hades II

Given how well the original Hades runs on the Steam Deck, it’s great to see that its sequel also performs beautifully. Hades II plays smoothly without significantly impacting battery life – a remarkable feat considering the fast-paced action and detailed animations. The game feels perfectly designed for the Steam Deck’s controls, making it easy to lose yourself for hours.
5) Split Fiction

You might assume a game built for split-screen wouldn’t look good on the Steam Deck, but Split Fiction actually looks fantastic. The visuals are sharp and clear even when the screen is split, thanks to the Deck’s ample screen space. The game runs smoothly with its default settings – including excellent image quality – and consistently delivers over 40 frames per second without draining the battery too quickly. Best of all, its cooperative gameplay makes it perfect for playing with friends, even if they don’t have a Steam Deck themselves.
