This 5-Season Sci-Fi Show Is Perfect To Watch if You Like Fringe (& It’s Streaming on Prime Video)

For five seasons, Fringe was a standout science fiction show on network television, brilliantly combining imaginative scientific ideas with relatable, emotional stories. The series centered on the FBI’s Fringe Division, which investigated bizarre and frightening events, gradually revealing a complicated story involving parallel universes, different timelines, and the powerful impact of a father’s love. When Fringe ended in 2013, its loyal fans were left feeling lost, searching for another show with the same blend of case-of-the-week investigations, larger mysteries, and genuine character connections. While nothing can truly compare to the adventures of Walter (John Noble), Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), and Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson), there are a few shows that offer a similar experience. One of the best is a five-season sci-fi series currently available to stream on Prime Video.

From 2009 to 2014, Syfy aired Warehouse 13, a show about Secret Service agents Myka Bering and Pete Lattimer. After an unusual event while protecting the president, they’re transferred to a secret government warehouse located in rural South Dakota. This warehouse holds strange and historically significant artifacts with unpredictable powers. Guided by the quirky and often overwhelmed Artie Nielsen, Myka and Pete travel the globe to collect these powerful objects and prevent them from causing trouble. The show blends elements of The X-Files, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and classic mystery shows, creating a fun, adventurous series rooted in history and mythology.

Why Is Warehouse 13 Well Suited for Fringe Fans?

I was totally hooked by Fringe when it first came out. It was great because each episode had a new, crazy science mystery to solve, but those individual stories were actually building towards this huge, season-long plot about a war between universes. Warehouse 13 does something really similar, and I love it! Most episodes focus on a weird object – like Poe’s pen or a mirror from Alice in Wonderland – and Pete and Myka have to figure out what trouble it’s causing. It’s that ‘mystery of the week’ feel that I remember from early Fringe, but it also creates this amazing backstory for the Warehouse itself, the people who run it, and the bad guys who want to use the artifacts for evil. It’s a really cool combination!

Both shows heavily emphasize how characters interact with each other. Fringe is fundamentally about the fractured Bishop family coming together, and Olivia Dunham plays a key role in that healing process. Warehouse 13 mirrors this with the relationship between the lighthearted Pete and the more disciplined Myka. Their boss, Artie, acts as a protective, though often unwilling, father figure to them. Later, the team grows with the addition of the tech-savvy Claudia Donovan and agent Steve Jinks, creating a close-knit group of outsiders who find a sense of purpose and community in their unusual workplace.

Both shows are remarkably good at mixing different moods. Fringe could quickly go from scary and disturbing scenes to funny, over-the-top moments with Walter, and then suddenly deliver a deeply emotional scene. Warehouse 13 does the same thing, combining clever jokes and genuinely funny situations with intense action and serious drama. The strange artifacts often lead to humorous results, but the danger they present is always taken seriously. This ability to blend lightheartedness with genuine emotion is what makes Warehouse 13 so enjoyable for fans who loved the unique appeal of Fringe.

All five seasons of Warehouse 13 are currently available to stream on Prime Video.
