Despite being the most frequently banned manga series in U.S. schools, Assassination Classroom continues to thrive, with a new movie planned for release next year. While many manga titles have faced bans in American public schools recently, Assassination Classroom has received the most objections. A recent study confirmed that Yusei Matsui’s original manga is the most banned series in the country, but its continued popularity in Japan is leading to even more new releases.
Next year marks the 10th anniversary of the anime Assassination Classroom, and to celebrate, a new movie is coming out! Called Assassination Classroom: Everybody’s Time, the film will continue the story from where the anime ended, using content from the original manga that wasn’t included in the TV series. You can watch the new trailer and see the movie poster below to get a sneak peek.
What to Know for New Assassination Classroom Movie
The new Assassination Classroom movie, Everybody’s Time, will be released in Japan on March 20th of next year. Currently, there’s no information about when it will be available internationally or if it will be streamed online. The film is being directed by Masaki Kitamura and animated by Studio Lerche, who also created the original anime series. Makoto Uezu is writing the screenplay, and Aya Higami is designing the characters. The latest trailer also revealed the theme song, titled “Teacher,” which will be performed by Sora Tomonari.
The new movie, arriving ten years after the original series finished, is bringing back the entire original voice cast – including Kikuko Inoue as Azusa, Mai Fuchigami as both Hotaru and Nagisa, Sayumi Suzuhiro as Kaho Tsuchiya, Mai Kanazawa as Kokona Tagawa, Yuichiro Umehara as Seeker, Kappei Yamaguchi as Futoshi, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Mario, Hiroki Tochi as Chantha, and Tetsu Inada as Sengoku. Fans of the original anime will be excited to know it will also feature completely new stories not found in either the TV series or the manga.
What’s New for the Assassination Classroom Movie?

The new movie, Assassination Classroom: Everybody’s Time, offers a look at stories that weren’t included in the original anime series. Creator Yusei Matsui has hinted that it’s more than just a celebration of the franchise’s 10th anniversary – the film will also feature a completely new story. While details are still vague, this promises to be an exciting addition to the Assassination Classroom universe.
If you’re interested in watching Assassination Classroom, the original anime series is available on Crunchyroll and Hulu. The series has a complete, satisfying story arc, so the new movie is just an added bonus. With more anime films becoming available in the US, there’s a good chance this one will be released here too, even though the manga has been banned in many schools.
