The new game from the creators of CRYSTAR and CRYMACHINA will be released on November 5th for PlayStation 5. It’s inspired by the classic story of Alice in Wonderland.
CRYMELIGHT is a new action-packed roguelike game inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic story, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It features a unique battle system that blends poker elements with fast-paced, visually striking ‘bishoujou’ (beautiful girl) action.
Here’s the blurb, via Gematsu:
CRYMELIGHT is the next chapter in the CRYSTAR saga, following the stories of CRYSTAR (2019) and CRYMACHINA (2023). It centers around a girl named Alice who wakes up with amnesia and learns she needs to reach the deepest level of Purgatory to be ‘Reborn’. Her journey begins at the Tea Party Hall, where she’ll battle monsters created from insanity and face her past mistakes, ultimately growing as a person along the way.
As mentioned earlier, the game’s battle system is built around playing cards. You’ll improve your combat abilities by collecting and combining cards to create more powerful hands.
Okay, so the game switches between two main places. There’s Wonderland, which is basically this messed-up prison for lost souls, and then the Tea Party, which is like a safe haven for girls who are dealing with some really heavy stuff. It’s a cool contrast – one place is all darkness and the other offers a bit of peace.
The game will offer two different camera options. World Immersion Mode focuses on a cinematic experience by reducing on-screen displays and keeping the camera close to the action from a side view. Action Mode pulls the camera back to give you a wider view, making it easier to see everything happening during combat.
The game will be available digitally for $19.99 or £15.99. A Deluxe Edition will also be offered for $39.99 or £32.99, and it includes extra in-game items, a digital art book, and the game’s soundtrack.
A physical copy and a special Collector’s Edition will be available in Japan, but it’s currently unknown if those will be released internationally.
To mark the news, FuRyu has discounted CRYSTAR to $3.99 or £3.19 on the PS Store. This offer is valid now through May 6th.
