Thomas Kingston’s Relative Sophie Winkleman Speaks Out After His Death

A member of the royal family has publicly addressed the passing of Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston.

Sophie Winkleman, known for her role in Wild Cherry, recently spoke about how her family has been dealing with the grief following the death of her brother-in-law, who tragically took his own life in February at the age of 45.

The loss was devastating for all of us, and we think about him constantly. My daughters, Maud and Isabella, absolutely loved him,” Sophie told The Times in a recent interview. “It’s been incredibly difficult.

The actress from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe shared, “We still keep in contact with his family, and it truly feels like he hasn’t left us.”

Kingson is survived by his wife, whose parents were Prince and Princess Michael of Kent (the late Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin), as well as his sisters, Joanna Connolly and Emma Murray.

Thomas Kingston‘s relative is detailing the royal family’s grief.

Over a year after the financier died by suicide in February 2024, Sophie Winkleman – who is married to Lady Gabriella Kingston’s brother, Lord Frederick Windsor – spoke about how members of the royal family are coping.

Speaking to The Times in an interview on November 12th, Sophie described the loss of Frederick as a terrible tragedy, saying they all miss him dearly. She shared that their daughters, Maud, 12, and Isabella, 9, loved him very much and called the situation ‘brutal’.

And they’ve kept Thomas’ spirit alive.

She said they are still in contact with his entire family – including his parents, Martin and Jill Kingston, and his sisters, Joanna Connolly and Emma Murray – and that it feels as though he hasn’t really left them.

Family and friends celebrated the life of Thomas with a public memorial service in June 2024, held at St Mary Abbots Church in London, several months after his passing in February 2024.

The family of Lady Gabriella Kingston has expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support and kindness they’ve received in recent months. In a statement, they shared their appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate the life of a beloved man, surrounded by those who knew and loved him.

Thomas was buried in March in a private ceremony at Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace in London. Prince William and other members of the royal family attended. Thomas was the son-in-law of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, who are cousins of Queen Elizabeth II.

Although King Charles III and Queen Camilla couldn’t be with the Prince of Wales, they shared in his sadness.

The King and Queen were saddened to learn of Thomas’s death and share in the grief of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and everyone who knew him. They especially offer their deepest sympathy and prayers to Gabriella and the entire Kingston family.

Following Prince Andrew’s decision to step down as Duke of York, King Charles III announced that his brother would also lose his home at Royal Lodge and no longer be known as a Prince.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Buckingham Palace just released a statement – they’re officially stripping Prince Andrew of his titles! It’s happening! They said he’ll just be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor now. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor… it doesn’t have the same ring, does it? Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, has announced he will no longer use the title Duke of York. This decision comes amid ongoing public concern about his relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

After talking with The King and my family, I’ve decided the ongoing accusations against me are taking attention away from the important work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Prince Andrew said in a statement. “As I’ve always done, I’m prioritizing my family and country. I continue to stand by my decision to step back from public duties, which I made five years ago.”

Andrew stated that, with the King’s approval, he was taking things a step further. He would be giving up his royal title and any honors he’d received. As he’s said before, he strongly rejects the claims made against him.

The charity has informed the Duchess of this decision and expressed gratitude for her previous contributions, according to The Guardian.

A representative for Ferguson stated that the email was sent following a threat made against her by Epstein.

As a long-time supporter of Prince Harry, I was really pleased to hear about the settlement he reached with News Group Newspapers – the people behind The Sun and the old News of the World. He originally sued them back in 2019, because he believed journalists and private investigators working for them had broken the law to get information about him and the royal family. It’s a relief to see things moving forward and hopefully, this will help prevent similar invasions of privacy in the future.

According to NBC News, the settlement involved the company paying a significant amount in damages and offering a complete and sincere apology to Harry. They also publicly admitted to the widespread and harmful coverage that invaded both his privacy and the privacy of his mother, Princess Diana.
