Christian Bale recently connected with a fan who praised his role as Gorr in the 2022 film Thor: Love and Thunder. He played the villain in the movie, directed by Taika Waititi, alongside Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and others. Although the film had a mixed response overall, Bale’s performance as the God Butcher was widely celebrated.
Christian Bale reacts to fan’s Thor: Love and Thunder praise
The Oscar-winning actor, recently seen in the movie The Bride, was signing autographs in New York City when a fan complimented his performance as Gorr in Thor: Love and Thunder.
A video circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows a fan telling Christian Bale, “Don’t listen to the haters, you did a great job!” Bale seemed surprised and asked what people were saying. The fan then admitted others thought it was a terrible movie, but they personally enjoyed it and asked Bale to keep that opinion a secret.
Christian Bale heard fans discussing his performance as Gorr in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ and he shared a particularly meaningful comment he’d received. A fan told him, ‘You did a great job, and I don’t care what anyone else thinks.’
I, like so many Marvel fans, was blown away by Christian Bale’s performance as Gorr the God Butcher. Even though Thor: Love and Thunder itself was a bit divisive, everyone agreed Bale was incredible. Seriously, he completely stole every scene he was in, and I honestly think the movie would have been even better if he’d had more screen time. We all wanted to see more of Gorr!
Christian Bale, known for his role in American Psycho, shared in July 2022 that several scenes featuring his character, Gorr, were removed from the final cut of Thor: Love and Thunder. He mentioned to Collider that there was a lot of material he hoped had made it into the movie, describing it as filled with both funny and genuinely frightening moments.
Christian Bale explained that including all the cut scenes would have made Thor: Love and Thunder too mature for its intended family audience, something the filmmakers and Marvel Studios were hoping to avoid.
