Okay, so Marvel’s Avengers movies have always been huge, but Avengers: Doomsday feels like they’re really going for it all. After everything that’s happened with the Multiverse Saga, directors Joe and Anthony Russo are aiming to wrap up this chapter of the MCU with a massive, sprawling story. We’re talking multiple superhero teams from different realities battling it out against Doctor Doom! And get this – Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doom! Yes, that Robert Downey Jr., swapping out Iron Man’s suit for a whole different kind of mask. People have been wanting to see Doctor Doom on screen for ages, and those at CinemaCon got a sneak peek – and let me tell you, it looks like it’s going to be worth the wait.
At tonight’s CinemaCon panel, Marvel Studios revealed a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. The biggest surprise was the first look at Robert Downey Jr. as the villain, Doom. The trailer showcased Doom’s incredible power with a scene of him effortlessly stopping Thor’s Stormbreaker with just his fingers. Other highlights included a fight between Shang-Chi and Gambit, and Thor giving a rousing speech to unite the heroes.
The trailer concludes with a heartwarming reunion between Steve Rogers and Thor. Thor is shocked to see him, but Steve, now with longer hair and a beard, proves it’s really him by lifting his hammer, Mjolnir.
