With so many retro game collections being released lately, it’s no surprise Limited Run Games announced the Nickelodeon Splat Pack for the PlayStation 5.
This collection brings together three 16-bit games that capture the feel of classic 90s Saturday morning cartoons. Sadly, fans hoping to play a Ren & Stimpy game will be disappointed. (No, really, there’s no Ren & Stimpy!)
Here’s the full lineup:
- Aaahh!!! Real Monsters (SEGA Genesis, SNES)
- Nickelodeon G.U.T.S (SNES)
- Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day (SNES)
Limited Run Games will use its own Carbon Engine to run each game, which likely means players will enjoy features like save states and the ability to rewind gameplay, even though those specific improvements weren’t officially announced.
We don’t have a confirmed release date yet, but you’ll be able to pre-order a physical copy starting September 19th and continuing until October 19th.
You’ll have three options on the boxed Blu-ray front:
- Standard Edition ($34.99)
- Blu-Ray Game
- Classic Edition ($69.99)
- Blu-Ray Game
- VHS Slipcover and VHS Tape Box
- 12″ x 16″ Double-Sided Poster
- Retro Nickelodeon PVC Keychain
- Sticker Sheet
- Collector’s Edition ($129.99)
- Blu-Ray Game
- VHS Slipcover and VHS Tape Box
- 12″ x 16″ Double-Sided Poster
- Rocko Shirt Lanyard
- Aggro Crag Light-Up Desk Ornament
- Retro Nickelodeon PVC Keychain
- Krumm Plush with Magnetic Eyes
- Enamel Pin Set
- Six Crazy Caps
- Sticker Sheet
From our side, this feels a little disorganized, but we believe licensing issues prevented us from adding more to this package.
We always love seeing classic games updated for today’s consoles, and we’re definitely planning to play this one – will you be joining us?
