Tia and Tamera Mowry’s Reunion Photo Proves They’re as Close as Ever

Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowryain’t ever gonna let each other go.

Tia and Tamera Mowry, known for their show *Sister, Sister*, showed off their close relationship with a cute selfie posted on Instagram on October 16th.

In the picture, Tia and Tamera, both 47, are dressed up and looking glamorous. Tia is wearing a red sweater and gold earrings, while Tamera chose a sparkly gold top. They shared the photo with the caption, “Tia and Tamera take NYC.”

Fans were delighted to see them together on their trip, and one person even commented that the photo felt surprisingly comforting and emotionally restorative.

One viewer shared, “Even at 38, watching the show still gives me the same nostalgic feeling I had as a kid in the ’90s. I’m so grateful to both of you.”

As a big fan, I was so excited to see confirmation that Tia and Tamera are spending time together! It means a lot because, you might remember, last year Tia made some comments on her WE TV show, *Tia Mowry: My Next Act*, that made people wonder if the sisters were drifting apart. She and her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict, share two amazing kids, Cree, who’s 14, and Cairo, who’s 7, and those comments really had fans questioning their bond. Seeing them together now feels like a really positive step!

“The hardest thing about getting divorced has been being alone,” Tia explained. “I often find myself wishing I could talk to my sister like we used to, but we’re not close anymore, so that’s just not possible.”

Tia clarified that she and Tamera aren’t currently living near each other. Tamera lives in Napa with her husband, Adam Housley, and their children, Aden, 12, and Ariah, 10, while Tia lives in Los Angeles.

Tia Mowry explained to TopMob News in October 2024 that, like most siblings, they all move through life stages – getting married and having children. Everyone takes on different roles and responsibilities. For example, her sister is a wife and mother, she herself is a mother, and her brother, Tavior Mowry, is a husband and father.

The actress, known for her role in *Game*, explained that she and her siblings aren’t always readily available to each other, and she finds that both wonderful and difficult.

Tia explained that while family support is wonderful, it’s not always available as we age. That’s why she believes friendships, strong bonds between women, and a sense of community are equally important, and that’s the message she was trying to convey.

Tia Mowry is responding to criticism she received after referring to herself as a “single mom,” even though she continues to co-parent her two children, 14-year-old Cree and 7-year-old Cairo, with her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict, who she finalized a divorce from in 2023. In a recent Instagram post, Tia explained that family structures can vary and still be loving and supportive. She clarified that being a “single mom” doesn’t always mean a mother is completely alone, acknowledging the challenges faced by those in that situation. Tia emphasized that, in her case, she is currently raising her children as a single parent in her daily life, as she doesn’t have a partner and is solely responsible for their care.

As many of you know, I finalized my divorce from Cory Hardrict in April of 2023, and it’s been a really reflective time. It’s funny, I came into this world as one half of a twin with my sister Tamera, and then I jumped right into a 22-year relationship with Cory. Honestly, I’d never really *been* alone before, so navigating this new chapter has been a journey! Cory and I actually met way back in 1999 on the set of *Hollywood Horror*. We started as friends, but things naturally blossomed from there. He was my first everything, really. I was 20 when we met, and I’ve shared that I waited until I was 25 to lose my virginity – I’m putting it all out there! Then, we got married – it all happened pretty quickly!

Tia and Cory got married in 2008 and have two children: a son named Cree, born in 2011, and a daughter named Cairo, born in 2018.

In 2022, Tia and Cory separated. Although Tia initially stated “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, she later explained when she realized her marriage was no longer working.

Tia Mowry realized the importance of prioritizing her own happiness after years of focusing on others. In a November 2022 interview on *Today*, she explained that women often put the needs and feelings of their children, friends, and family first. But she emphasized that self-love is crucial. When you truly focus on yourself, recognize your worth, and practice self-care, it can be transformative, though challenging. She believes the journey is ultimately rewarding.

Following her decision to be honest about her divorce, Tia also wanted to be open with the public. As she shared in her show, *Tia Mowry: My Next Act*, she was simply tired of pretending everything was okay when it wasn’t and wanted to live authentically.

Tia also thought about how the divorce would impact her children, Cree and Cairo. In an interview with HelloBeautiful in June 2023, she shared that her decision was partly for them, wanting them to see her living authentically. She believes it’s a valuable lesson, even though it was incredibly difficult. She hopes they’ll learn that even when things are tough and people doubt you, you can persevere and pursue what’s true for you – and that they’ll be proud to say their mother did just that. Ultimately, Tia hopes her kids will be inspired to forge their own paths in life, too.

She continued, saying her greatest wish was for her children to live authentically. She didn’t want them to feel pressured to follow her expectations or those of others, but to embrace who they truly are. She hoped they would learn it’s okay to have difficult days, to pursue happiness, and to live a life that feels true to themselves.

Though Tia and Tamera Mowry have been beloved on television for years, they aren’t currently as close as they once were. Tia recently shared that going through her divorce has been difficult, and she misses having her sister nearby. She explained that she wishes she could easily call Tamera for support, but they’re not at that point in their relationship right now.

Tia explained that she and her sister lead separate lives now, with different homes, families, and priorities. A source shared that the sisters remain close, but live far apart – Tamera in Napa and Tia in Los Angeles. Tia later clarified her comments, explaining she meant they don’t see each other as often due to the distance. She added that while this presents challenges, it’s also a natural part of growing up and having independent lives.

Tamera Mowry-Housley was surprised to learn about her sister Tia’s return to reality television just like everyone else. She told *Entertainment Tonight* in May 2024 that she found out when the news was announced to the public. Tamera also mentioned that Tia didn’t ask her to make a guest appearance on the show, which she took to mean she wouldn’t be included. Despite this, Tamera seemed understanding, saying Tia explained it was her own personal story. Tia herself downplayed the lack of a heads-up, telling the Associated Press in October 2024 that it’s perfectly normal not to share every detail with family. She emphasized that both sisters are living their own lives and aren’t obligated to keep each other informed about everything.

Tia and Tamera have often discussed the challenges in their relationship. During their reality show, *Tia & Tamera*, which aired from 2011 to 2013, they even went to therapy to improve how they talked to each other. Tamera explained on *The Real* in 2019 that their different personalities made communication difficult. She described herself as sensitive, while her sister is more assertive and self-sufficient, and they needed to find a way to communicate positively and effectively.

Tamera Mowry grew up constantly being compared to her twin sister, Tia. She explained in a January 2024 video that it was inevitable – people naturally compare twins, focusing on even small differences like facial features or personality. Initially, she didn’t mind, but as she got older, the comparisons started to bother her.

“It became toxic,” she admitted, noting that a simple online search reveals many negative comparisons. Fortunately, her mother shared some wise advice: “Comparison is the thief of joy.”

Tamera realized that even though she and Tia are identical twins, they are still individuals with unique talents and qualities. “God made each of us different,” she said, “and that’s okay.”

Similar to Tia sharing details about her relationship with Cory, Tamera has also offered fans a look into her marriage with Adam Housley. She’s described him as the love of her life, but acknowledges, like all couples, they face challenges and joys.

Tamera, who married Adam in 2011, told TopMob News in May 2024, “Thirteen years have flown by!” She added that while their marriage isn’t perfect, she still deeply cares for him as a person and feels they are growing closer, not further apart. They also make an effort to regularly communicate and support each other.

Tamera, who shares her children Aden and Ariah with Adam, suggests regularly checking in with your partner. She advises simply asking, ‘Are you happy?’ and ‘What can we do to stay happy together?’ She explains that she doesn’t just want a long marriage, but a *joyful* one.

Tamera and Adam seem to still be very passionate after over ten years of marriage.

In a 2022 interview on *The Jennifer Hudson Show*, Tamera explained that setting sexual goals is key to her happy marriage, and she believes women shouldn’t be afraid to talk about what they want.

According to *Today*, Tamera shared in her memoir, *You Should Sit Down for This*, a list of adventurous places she’d like to be intimate, including a skyscraper rooftop, inside a car during the rain, and in every room of her home.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m a huge believer in reclaiming your power, especially in long-term relationships. I always tell women: don’t be afraid to fully embrace your desires and take ownership of your intimacy! Just because you’ve been with someone for years doesn’t mean the spark has to fade – in fact, it should be *encouraged* to stay alive and well. It’s about owning your happiness and refusing to let anyone – or any societal expectation – tell you otherwise.

Tamera Mowry-Housley has opened up about her experience on *The Real*, admitting that her first four years were deeply unhappy. In her memoir, she described battling severe anxiety, often vomiting from stress, and relying heavily on alcohol to cope with the demanding schedule and constant public attention.

Despite these difficulties, Tamera cherishes her seven years on the show and fondly remembers the connections she made. She shared these thoughts when announcing her departure as a co-host in 2020, expressing gratitude for the lasting friendships and impactful interviews.

Tamera also highlighted the show’s accomplishments, including two NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy, expressing pride in everything the women achieved together.

With the recent trend of ’90s show reboots, many fans have been asking if *Sister, Sister* could make a comeback. While Tia and Tamera have been trying to make it happen, they’ve explained it’s been difficult. Tia mentioned on *The Real* in 2017 that they could only do so much to get it off the ground. More recently, in May 2024, Tamera confirmed to *Us Weekly* that a reboot is officially not in the works.
