Tiger Woods & Ex Elin Nordegren Reunite at Son Charlie’s Golf Ceremony

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren are reuniting fore a good cause.

On February 24th, the professional golfer and his former wife joined forces to celebrate their son, Charlie Woods, after he led his high school golf team to victory at the Florida State Championship three months prior, marking the occasion with a ring ceremony.

At an event held at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Tiger Woods, 50, and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, 46, took a photo with their son, Charlie. The former couple, who are also parents to 18-year-old Sam Woods, stood next to Charlie, 17, as he proudly displayed his navy championship shirt and gold medal. They all smiled for the picture.

Tiger and Elin both showed their support for Charlie’s school by wearing the school colors. Elin wore a navy and orange sweatshirt, while Tiger opted for a more relaxed but still polished look with a navy jacket and white shirt.

It was so great seeing Charlie and his ex together again recently! It happened right after they were both at his high school golf tournament on November 15th – and it was an amazing day because his team actually won the state championship! It really warmed my heart to see them supporting him.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, who are also parents to Arthur, Zeta, and Freya with Jordan Cameron, were there to cheer on their son Charlie and chatted with others as his team won the game.

Despite a difficult history stemming from Tiger’s highly publicized infidelity in 2009, he and his ex-wife have consistently presented a united front for their children. He has even spoken positively about their ability to maintain a friendly relationship.

In a 2015 interview with Time magazine, Tiger spoke highly of his relationship with Vanessa Trump, calling her one of his best friends. He explained that they communicate frequently and prioritize their children above all else.

Tiger Woods has really enjoyed sharing his passion for golf with his kids. He’s played in tournaments alongside his son, Charlie, and in 2023, his daughter, Sam, even helped him out as his caddy.

Tiger Woods shared with Golf Channel how much it meant to him to have both of his children involved in the event, playing and experiencing the game of golf alongside him. He said it was an incredibly special moment.

Now that Charlie has officially committed to playing golf at Florida State University, Tiger is incredibly happy for him.

The father of two shared with NBC Sports in December how thrilled he was for his son, and how much the family had enjoyed the experience together.

Charlie’s not the only kid of a famous athlete who’s pursuing the same sport. Here’s a look at other athletes whose children are following in their footsteps.

Many people consider him the best basketball player ever, so it wasn’t surprising when his sons, Jeffrey Jordan and Marcus Jordan, wanted to play the sport too. After playing in high school, Jeffrey went on to college basketball at both the University of Illinois and the University of Central Florida, hoping to make a name for himself and be known for more than just being his father’s son.

In 2005, Jeffrey told The Washington Post that while he didn’t consider himself one of the best players in his state, he was determined to prove he deserved to compete and wasn’t just relying on his reputation.

While studying at UCF, Marcus also played basketball, and he says his father was instrumental in helping him find his direction in life.

He shared advice whenever I needed it, but mostly he emphasized the importance of staying focused and working hard each day, believing that effort would eventually lead to success, he told The Gainesville Sun in 2011.

Bronny James (born LeBron James Jr. on October 6, 2004) played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon in the San Fernando Valley and later went on to attend the University of Southern California.

LeBron’s busy NBA schedule has often made it difficult for him to attend all of his son Bronny’s games. However, he’s always made a real effort to be there, even going to extraordinary lengths. For example, he once rented a private plane on a day off just to watch Bronny’s team, Sierra Canyon, play against his old high school, St. Vincent-St. Mary, in Akron, Ohio.

LeBron told reporters that watching his son play against his former college team was a surreal and incredibly special experience, feeling like everything had come full circle.

In June 2024, Bronny James was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers, creating a historic moment: he and his father, LeBron James, will be the first father-son pair to play in the NBA simultaneously.

LeBron James’s son, Bryce James, began his college basketball career at the University of Arizona in 2025.

Rounding out the Sierra Canyon team of all-stars is Zaire Wade, the oldest son of former Miami Heat player, Dwyane Wade.

Zaire, who joined the team in December 2019 after transferring from Florida, explained to Yahoo! Sports that they have to get used to all the attention. He said cameras follow them everywhere, and while he’s experienced a lot of attention throughout his life, this is unlike anything he’s seen before – it’s on a whole new level.

In April 2020, Zaire announced on Instagram that he was transferring to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, Florida, because he wasn’t getting enough playing time.

Zaire was selected 10th overall in the 2021 NBA G League draft by the Salt Lake City Stars. He later played for the Cape Town Tigers in the Basketball Africa League and most recently signed with a team in the ASEAN Basketball League in April 2024.

Former football player Cha’iel Johnson might be surpassed by his own daughter’s athletic achievements. She’s a talented track and field runner who won the 800-meter race at the 2017 AAU Junior Olympics when she was just 12 years old.

She competed for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida and later joined the track and field team at the University of Kentucky.

One of the NBA Hall of Famer’s sons, who stands 6-foot-10, played college basketball at UCLA. His career was unfortunately cut short by a heart problem that needed surgery.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always admired athletes who find the right fit. This player, after unfortunately sitting out a season at his previous California school, made a fantastic move transferring to Louisiana State University. It’s a place that clearly celebrates its stars – they even have a massive 900-pound bronze statue of Shaq outside their practice facility! It just shows the incredible spirit and pride LSU has for its alumni.

After finishing his college career at Louisiana State University, the basketball player began his professional journey in 2022 with the NBA G League Ignite, a team designed to develop young talent for the NBA.

Shaquille O’Neal’s daughter, who is 6’2″, announced in 2020 that she would be attending LSU to play basketball, joining her brother Shareef on the team.

Choosing what to do after high school is a really big decision, and I’ve made mine! I’m a little nervous about what the future holds, but I’m definitely up for the challenge. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve committed to playing a sport at LSU, and I get to do it with my brother, Shareef O’Neal! I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend the next four years as a Tiger.

She joined the basketball team at Texas Southern University for the 2021-2022 season.

The oldest daughter of a two-time NBA All-Star played basketball with Izela Arenas, the daughter of Gilbert Arenas, while they both attended Sierra Canyon School.

In a December 2020 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Randolph spoke about his time playing for Michigan State under coach Tom Izzo. He described Izzo as a tough, demanding coach who pushed his male players hard. Randolph noted that Izzo treated female players with more understanding and support, saying they easily gained his sympathy and he had a soft spot for them.

MacKenly jokingly claimed she’d won against her father in one-on-one matchups three times, adding that he doesn’t bother trying to defend himself.

Terique, the 6’3″ son of an NFL Hall of Famer, initially joined Florida Atlantic University’s football team as a walk-on in 2019. He had spent most of his life playing basketball before deciding to pursue football during his teenage years. He first played college football at Contra Costa Community College before transferring to FAU.

After his college football career, Terique signed with the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad.

A standout player from Sierra Canyon High School, he started every year and led his team to two state championships. He then played college basketball at Vanderbilt University before joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022 with a contract allowing him to play for both the Lakers and their G League affiliate.

In 2024, Scotty Jr. signed a contract with the Memphis Grizzlies that allowed him to play for both the Grizzlies and their G-League team, after a short time playing for the South Bay Lakers.

Michael Jordan, the legendary Chicago Bulls player and five-time NBA champion, is also a father.

Dennis Rodman Jr., also known as DJ, was a high school athlete at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California, playing both basketball and football. He initially played basketball at Washington State University before transferring to the University of Southern California in 2023.

After a game in 2017, his high school coach, Ryan Schachter, told the Orange County Register that he was a talented player in Southern California who hadn’t received enough recognition.

After his college career, DJ joined Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G League in 2024.

While Dennis Rodman’s son followed in his footsteps by playing basketball, his daughter, Trinity Rodman, chose a different sport: soccer. Her first season of college soccer was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, but she quickly turned professional, joining the Washington Spirit in 2021 and the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2022.

In 2024, Trinity won Olympic gold as part of Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

It’s not surprising that Tiger Woods’ son is a talented golfer. Charlie Woods first appeared on television playing golf with his father at the 2020 PNC Championship when he was just 11 years old.

You know, people were asking me if I’d been practicing my swing before spending time with my son, and honestly, I hadn’t. My game wasn’t even on my mind! My priority was making sure my son had an amazing experience and really enjoyed our time together. It’s all about him, not my golf, on days like these.
