Battlefield 6 came out in early October, and its battle royale mode, RedSec, was released on October 28, 2025. Turning off cross-play on consoles might give you an edge, making it easier to win without having to compete against players using PCs.
PC players can’t currently turn off cross-play, meaning those frustrated with aim assist on consoles are stuck with it for the time being.

EA is listening to player feedback and may add a specific option in a future update. Currently, PC players can only change their matchmaking settings by choosing a region or adjusting party size preferences.
Battlefield’s comeback and RedSec’s rise
Battlefield 6 is a successful return to form for the series. It seems the developers have taken player feedback to heart and are making real improvements after a period of challenges.
It’s not only Battlefield 6 that’s getting attention. I spent all night playing RedSec and had a great time with friends – it feels like playing through a movie! While it’s not without flaws and reviews are currently mixed, the developers seem open to feedback, just like with Battlefield 6, so we can expect RedSec to improve over time.
