Tom Brady was playing through the pain.
I’ve been following Tom Brady for years, and it’s been fascinating to hear him talk about his final season with the Buccaneers. It really started at a tough time for him – right when the news came out about his divorce from Gisele Bündchen back in the fall of 2022. It’s amazing how he managed to focus on football through all of that.
Tom recently shared that last season was difficult for him. He explained in an interview on January 15th that he was dealing with a challenging personal family matter.
His personal struggles definitely affected his performance. He explained, “It really drained my energy and made it hard to play my best.”
Tom Brady played for the Buccaneers for two years after leaving the Patriots, where he played for 20 seasons. He led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory in 2021 before retiring in 2022.
I was absolutely crushed when I heard he was staying with Tampa for another season, but honestly, I couldn’t blame him! Even though they didn’t have a great year – finishing with an 8-9 record – I still held out hope. Every game, I was glued to the screen, convinced this would be the year!
After 23 years of playing football, I didn’t feel like I was giving anything up when I retired,” he said. “I’d always had a goal: to be 45 and spend more time with my children. I was 45 years old, and that’s what I wanted to do.”
As a lot of you know, family is incredibly important to me. I’m a proud dad to three amazing kids: Vivian, who’s 13, and Benjamin, 16, with Gisele. I also have an 18-year-old son, Jack, with Bridget Moynahan. They each bring so much joy to my life!

He realized it was time to prioritize attending his children’s games. He felt they had already supported him enough at his own events.
But before he left the game behind forever, he endeavored to put his best foot forward.
I felt responsible for giving my all to my teammates and coaches,” he explained. “I hoped things could have finished a little stronger, but it was a really unusual year and a challenging situation overall.
Tom Brady recently gave an update on his life, years after retiring from football and not long after his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, had a baby with her new husband, Joaquim Valente.

As it turns out, his schedule is full to bursting.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Tom shared that he’s very busy with work and family, leaving him with little time for personal pursuits. He expressed that despite this, he genuinely enjoys both his career and spending time with his children.
I enjoy staying active and finding meaning in my work,” the 48-year-old explained. “I’m currently working on exciting projects with fantastic teams who are making a real difference.
