More details about Victoria Jones’ sudden death are coming to light.
On February 17th, the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to People magazine that the death of Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter, who passed away over a month prior at age 34, was ruled an accident. The cause of death was determined to be the toxic effects of cocaine.
Victoria was found dead in a San Francisco hotel on January 1st. According to the city’s fire department, paramedics responded to a medical emergency at the hotel at 2:52 a.m. local time on New Year’s Day. They determined she had died at the scene, and the case was then handed over to the medical examiner and the San Francisco Police Department.
After the actress’s sad passing, Tommy Lee, age 79, shared a message from his family. They thanked everyone for their support and asked for privacy as they grieve.
Victoria, the daughter of Tommy Lee and Kimberlea Cloughley, first appeared on screen in the 2002 film Men in Black II. She was just 11 years old at the time and acted alongside her father and Will Smith. She shares a brother, Austin Jones, who is 43 years old.
She acted in the 2005 neo-Western film The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada and the 2014 film The Homesman. Before retiring from acting in 2014, she also made a short appearance on the TV show One Tree Hill.

Even though her time in the industry was brief, Tommy Lee publicly expressed how proud he was of his daughter’s career.
In a 2006 interview with The New Yorker, the star of The Fugitive mentioned that she believes the actress is talented and a professional – she has her SAG card and speaks flawless Spanish. He explained that when the actress was a baby, he asked her nanny, Leticia, to only speak to her in Spanish.
Victoria had a significant impact on Tommy Lee, even inspiring his film The Homesman. He wrote, directed, and starred in the Western, which examines issues of sexism during the 1800s.
Tommy Lee, who married Dawn Laurel-Jones in 2001, shared in a 2014 interview with Interview magazine that the women in his life – his grandmother, mother, wife, and daughter – and many of his close friends are women. He explained he’s simply curious about their experiences and what challenges they face, and believes understanding the past is key to understanding present-day issues.
